It was Scarborough. The team went there for some 'warm weather ' training. I think it was just before the Stoke match. On another occasion in Scarborough, one of my friends was in a nightclub when some of the players came in. Apparently Jimmy McGill, who could hardly be understood because of his accent, said to Jeff Wealands, "Do you want a drink, Lurch?" I didn't know they called him that till then. Of course, my mate could have translated it totally incorrectly.
Dunno how many of those I bought over the years. Never won a penny! Used to get excited if I was within 10 minutes of the time. Dunno why. If you didn't win, you didn't win. Didn't matter how far away you were!
I bought loads and never got near winning. I didn't win the Ford Escort in the bob a goal club either.
You needed to get the time to the exact second (eg your time might be 42 minutes 17 seconds). That gives you odds of 2700 to 1 to get the first or last goal. Although surely they didn't have 0 minutes 1 second. Anyone know what time range was included?
