I remember when Mally came to live in Hedon and worked shifts down Hedon Road so could only play 2 out of 3 games I was managing Hedon United at the time in Senior Amateur league and got him to sign for us. He had played aginst us for Schultz OB. He was a class player so cool under pressure and read games so well. I often wondered why he never made it as at the time he was far better than many who were full time pros at the time.
