I'd like to know when Cairney went missing? He was our only player that was always looking for the ball, and even though his job isn't to get the ball back he got his foot in and still tried to win it and get play moving again.

My opinions on some of the players mentioned.

I thought Cairney was lightweight in the midfield and tried his best not to get into tackles. First half was a bit sloppy and poor from everyone so i'll let him off. After we got a foothold in the game he did create a few decent balls to Fryatt, which should have been dispatched. Good freekicks mind.

Adebola. Well poor selection for me, never looked like linking up with anyone and his knock downs were poor. Their centre halved contained him well. We looked better with Simpson on. I'll give him time to get match fir and i hope he does well for us.

McKenna. I'll give him time to bed in as well. He's not there to pass the ball but to break it up. Not a great performance today but Cairney wasn't the best of help for him.

Fryatt- poor looked out of sorts and wanted for too much time when he was clean through on goal. But at least he's creating these chances.

Gulasci was poor. He looked dodgy in the air and his longballs were poor and not always the best option at times. Couldn't do anything to save their goal. Didn't really get tested by their strikers.

Glad to see us actually pushing Blackpool back in the 1st half, should of scored 4 and thought ref was poor with some decisions, credit to Blackpool they bosses the midfield from about 25 minutes to 70 minutes, wouldn't of brought Barmby on when Adebola was getting beaten in the air though

Did Koren play tonight I never saw him lol

Enjoyed the game bit gutted about the result but it's only the 1st game and long way to go!

It was a bit of a scratchy performance i thought. Impressed with Dudgeon and Brady, a little disappointed in Hobbs sloppyness but still thought our defence was ok.

Gulasci worried me with those two flaps. For a tall guy he's hardly commanding.

Cairney is a decent play maker but has no ability to put others under meaningful pressure, when we don't have the ball he may as well not be there at times. Created some of our best moves but i thought that they owned the midfield for most the game. It made it very hard to judge McKenna's performance as i thought he was left marking three men a lot of times.

Did Koren play? What's happened to Matty, almost looked disinterested tonight? Simpsons chance was screaming to just take a touch round the keeper and nestle it in although what i actually shouted at him wasn't so kind.

All in all we just lacked a touch of class in the final third and i'm still quite optimistic that'll come good, but i fear a lot rests on Fryatt picking himself up from tonight.

Never read such sh1t in my life. I hope you out of towners dont believe this idiot. Tom Cairney never put a pass out of place all night. He got stuck in. He made the best moment of the first half and the best moment of the second half. Mckenna gave the ball away in a crucial area and if the Blackpool player had laid a better ball KP would ahve been in on goal. Lets not forget NP subbed Mckenna not TOM. He alos didnt make Mckenna captain as this idiot advocated. Hobbs was poor and nervy all night. But i think Rosenior and Dudgeon didnt show enough for the ball off him. Chester looked composed all match. Again you lot believed this idiot. I said in preseason Fryatt looked disinterested as he did tonight. This guy pushes his own agenda it may be a good read but is it truthful? I dont think so.

Completely agree just the usual critics out there. Cairney MOM alongside Brady. He was unlucky with his free kick and effortlessly skipped passes two men and put it on the plate for Fryatt. With the lack of goals last season Nigel had to play more attacking and Cairney created us chances.

This game obviously had alot of interest in it and alot of forums from different clubs are prasing Cairney along with Peter Beagrie. And after going to the game I watched it on Sky+ and it was all Cairney at half time. And being a bit quite in the first 5-10 minutes he again got back in the game and without a fantastic strike from Taylor-Fletcher I am sure it would have been about him again. It would be nice to get an unbiased opinion of players for once and not rate them on last years performances. He's gone away and improved his game what more can you ask for?
