Saw them live in Camden Lock/Palace? (former picture house) in 1980, support was band who sang 'turning Japanese' First time I ever drank from plastic pint 'glasses' Long night All I remember is wanting it to be over At least they'll never be live again
The guitarist from mud (he's wearing the bauble earring in the lonely this christmas vid) became a successful songwriter he co-wrote can't get you out of my head for Kylie and if this ain't love for Spiller (I think that's their name). Both songs were no.1 singles and both times Victoria Beckham had singles out that only reached no.2. I think we should be grateful that he helped kill off her solo career
Just for Dave. I know you'll love this ... from 1975.
Too young to recall Mud the first time round, but all too aware of their ouevre - however I saw them on BBC4 "Top of the Pops 1976" rutting about doing a disco record? You forget how bloody awful some of the stuff was then. The past really is another country, however the music is starting to improve now BBC4 has started showing "Top of the pops 1977" - an inconguous appearance by Gary Glitter notwithstanding.
Always had a nagging concern in the back of my mind that it should have been called Tiger Paws, and I wrote to Les and told him so; he very graciously thanked and told me to **** off.
We should have to watch this so as we never forget exactly how **** things were when we were growing up ... The good old days ? were they buggery... New Rose and Spiral scratch came out and the world changed for the better
