I note that our ladies' team has been refused Toer 1 status. Lots of others got it and a few like Swansea have been allowed to appeal. Can anyone cast light on why we got refused....is it to so with facilities and support etc? And what does it mean?

I'm still confused as to who exactly the women's team is. There appears to be two distinct entities. Others have tried to explain it to me before but I still can't fathom it.
In my simple head, there appears to be a team attached to us that plays in the Welsh League and another team that plays in the English leagues. The latter being the one's that went on the recent FA Cup run. I still can't see anything that suggests that they are linked to us.

Oh god. I've just realised I used the word "entities" when talking about the women's game. Look out <doh>
C'mon Clingo, keep abreast of the situation here....

You are correct though, Cardiff City Ladies have no affiliation the the club...
From memory they've been going quite a few years (ok, just looked it up and their crest says 1975! From looking at it they'd have been quite at home with our red rebrand).

My sister played womens football many moons ago but for Barry Ladies. Cardiff were considered a rival club of course.

"Our" team are Cardiff City Women, and yes, they play in the Welsh system.

Regards FFB'S original point, I'm not quite sure why they've been denied but did find this;

The assessments made by the First Instance Body were made on the following criteria: Sporting, Football Social Responsibility, Infrastructure, Legal, Personnel, Financial and Codes of Practice.

Maybe we're not green enough???
