Now that the footy season's over, and there's just Adam Drury's testimonial left, I though it
might be interesting to see what you are up to over the summer, this is what I've got tickets
for so far, and might try and fit in a test match or two if time allows.
I've been a bit of a hypocrite, I said I wouldn't try to get Olympic tickets after the previous
debacles, but, I did succumb and had a go for the third time, and, I've got what I wanted.
This will be the second Olympics for me and Mrs Delia as we were both at the Munich
Games in 72. We didn't know each other then. She was there with friends for for the full
2 weeks, I only managed the last week. In those days you just had to turn up on the day
pay and walk in, even the closing ceremony was the same. It's a bit different these days!!!
I've also got Paralympic tickets, I've got a friend taking part so it will be great to be there
to give her our support.
My tickets and passes for the Monaco GP came through last week, so next Thursday
I'm off to the Cote d'azure for 4 days of insanity! This is my 6th Monaco GP, I love the
place, it's the most exciting place to be to watch a race. This is the highlight of my year!
We will be going back to the South of France at the end of August for our annual 2 weeks
holiday, most of the tourists are gone by then and it's a far nicer place without them.
Should soon be getting my tickets for IoW festival, 3rd week in June, Springsteen,
Vaccinnes etc. My last time was 1970 when the Doors and Hendricks were there,
now that was a bit mental, lots of strange stuff being smoked!! I guess it's going to be a
bit different this time, no sleeping in a bin liner on the grass, waking up wet and freezing cold
with a hangover from hell. It's a sign of getting on a bit, we've managed to get a hotel room
this time, but it means getting the ferry every morning and night.
Whatever it is you're doing, I hope it's fun!
