Anyone else unhappy about moving Leeds tickets onto your phone? I rarely use my phone - and I certainly don't use Google Pay. It regularly gets forgotten, and even when remembered, it's usually out of battery. Just tried to phone up about it. Got cut off after 15 mins. 2nd try. Nope, can't help. However, they're looking at another option for those that don't have a smartphone, but they can't tell me what it is, as I have a smartphone!! Apparently they've canvassed thousands of us. First I've heard of it. Now I have to write in to them expressing my displeasure. Not sure if I'm going over the score, but I simply do not trust phones as far as I can throw them. Am I alone?
Well that's reduced my chances of attending Elland Road even further, as the only phone I own, is the one that is attached to my landline, and I don't think the cord is long enough to stretch all the way from North Wales to Elland Road
I'm with you on that WJ. My sons laugh at me because I'm not savvy with all this e.****. Even my boarding passes are paper rather than on my phone. They really should be able to give you the option of paper or electronic. I reckon there will be murder at the stiles for the first game.
We've a few mates who have season tickets and they are away for the Everton game, but they can send their ticket to us. I just hope it works.
Thanks for that LDS, now all I need to do is win the Members lottery of 1 seat available for every xxxx amount of members applying
Well they haven't come up with an alternative yet, but plan to have one. (How daft is that statement at this point?). I suspect the club will be influenced by the USasians & the solution will be to sell you a £200 phone with a Leeds crest on it for £1254.32 plus VAT. They might even set up the phone for you if pay them another £2492.43 plus VAT. Am I being too cynical these days?
I went to Wembley for the Euros where you had to present your covid pass at one barrier & your ticket at the next, both on the phone, before you went on to the turnstiles. I took ages at all 3 points, & got ushered through without showing either at the barriers because of the queues building up behind me. The thing is - it was happening A LOT, & I'm guessing thousands got through unchecked. Up at Hampden, we had (barcode) tix for the other 2 matches. Being really drunk, I used the wrong tix & got in ok!! But I'm dead against demands being made of me. If only they'd told us that there was a trial we could try out, but oh no! got to be big bang.
And now kids won't be able to go home after their 1st game at ER and stick their match day ticket on the wall with all their other Leeds stuff, just like we all did. ****ing technology. Although I guess they could print a copy.
For this sort of thing, 'green' means it saves *them* spending money on printing, not anything to do with the planet. Second hand smart phones are dirt cheap as da yoof always want the latest models. Get into the C20th if you can't manage the C21st. BTW, scanners to scan barcodes and QR codes on phones are the same ones being used to scan paper copies. Backlogs are due to people issues, not the tech.
No because I'm waiting for membership to come to my phone. Then i have to put it on google pay. What happens if your phone dies on matchday.
No you are not alone and I would much prefer having a physical ticket. I hate new technology and think it will take a bit of getting used to. Apparently there was to be an alternative to having the ticket on your phone for those without one but lo and behold now fans are having to be told to get in touch with the ticket office to find out what options there are.
