The MU fans, whether from Manchester or Hull and East Riding weren't depriving City fans of a ticket either.

    That's exactly the reason

    http://www.themag.co.uk/2016/11/exc...stle-match-hull-v-newcastle-united-hull-city/

Exclusive: Revealed how many tickets Hull have sold for Newcastle match
Newcastle fans can buy tickets in the home sections as Hull v Newcastle ticket info shows as few as 5,000 Hull fans may have bought tickets.
The Hull v Newcastle ticket debacle just gets ever more embarrassing for Hull City and annoying for Newcastle fans.
Newcastle supporters were given the bare minimum of tickets, receiving 2,474 for the League Cup quarter final, competition rule stating they have to allocate at least 10% of their 25,000 capacity to the Magpies.
Even Hull fans were saying this was crazy with no chance of the home supporters filling the stadium, especially with the animosity toward the club owners.
Newcastle sold their 2,474 tickets straight away and over twice as many as that number have already grabbed tickets for the TV beamback screening in the various St James Park bars.
Tickets have been on sale to Hull fans for some weeks but on Wednesday (23 November), tickets are available to the general public.
What this also means is that if you registered on the Hull City ticketing system, you could get to see how many seats have been sold to Hull supporters…and how many haven’t.
Below are four screenshots taken from four random sections around the stadium, they are also spread across the various prices (£9, £12 and £15).
Looking around all the various areas and making rough estimates (not counting every single seat), it looks as though between a quarter and a third of seats have been sold.

With six days to go to the match, only between 5,000 and 7,000 tickets (if you are being generous) sold to home fans (though I do know a number of Newcastle fans who have already got mates in the Hull area to buy them tickets in the home ends).
It is an absolute shambles and a lot of hassle and potential trouble could have been saved by giving Newcastle a realistic allocation.
Whilst there is a warning saying away fans will be thrown out, there is absolutely nothing to stop Newcastle fans buying any/all of these unsold seats in the home end. In fact, my mate (with a north east address) registered this morning and bought tickets for us in the home end.
Championship clubs have said that only fans with a past history of buying tickets could buy tickets this season, to prevent Newcastle supporters getting them in the home areas. None of that with Hull though, with anybody able to now either walk up, telephone, or register online and buy tickets.
I bet the Police in Hull are over the moon about this – shame they hadn’t stepped in and ‘advised’ Hull City to give Newcastle fans a realistic allocation, considering any sane person knew the home fans would never come close to filling the stadium.

It's funny they think we'd like the KCOM full.

It's even funnier they think it should be full of them.

    Self entitled ****s.

I hope that whatever else happens this season, we beat them.

Maybe. But I wish we needed a beam back and could sell thousands more tickets than allocated for annaway game.
It is embarrassing. Anyone From China, the USA or anywhere else looking to buy a club in this country would be more tempted by a club like Norwich in a city far smaller than Hull which is full every week in the Championship and owns its own ground. Or Derby, Brighton and a host of others.
The other quarter finals will have 50,000+ crowds whilst we will have about 15,000.

Also, so they think if there's any trouble because they've got tickets in the home ends...it's totally not their fault?

    ****s.

Nah. It's not embarrassing for us. Any new owners should see then realise the potential.

    If it's even there.

They will think there is more potential in a club selling out their stadium in a lower division.
It would be pleasant to think that someone might think they could be become heroes in the local community by going into a club where there is discontent, attracting fans back and getting everyone pulling together. Sort of like Pearson did. But at this level pragmatism rules amongst the hard headed businessmen with the sort of money necessary to gain control of a club.

Like Happy, I'm finding these articles by 'The Mag' increasingly irritating. They read like they're written by a 14-year old. They're absolutely convinced it's a horrible injustice that they've only got the standard ticket allocation. Truth is they're not entitled to any more, just like every other club. That decision was the only good one the Allams have made in years.

There's such a sense of self-entitlement about them, we gave them the required amount of tickets end of.

Why do they think we'd want any more of them there? We don't need their money and we'd be idiots to give the away team any possible advantage.

They then moan about potential trouble for the police, well thats only if their fans knowingly and willingly break the rules which have been clearly stated before the game, any trouble is down to them and not our club.

Still available if you log in, they should keep it that way aswell, any City fan wanting to go to this game will either be on the database or know someone who is.

I notice the South end of the west upper is on sale which is another mind boggling decision given the expected crowd, surely you try and pack the lower bowl first ffs.

Its actually quite naive to think that buyers would make decisions based on the current attendance figures compared to other clubs.

When they buy a club they look at the current, projected and potential income, right now the difference between 15,000 and 20,000 home fans is minuscule in the context of overall revenue.

Competent research would also show them the previous attendances, the reasons for low attendances this season and the potential future attendances.

The fact these wealthy investors aren't interested in the clubs you've listed shows exactly how relevant current attendances are to a potential purchase.

    Groan time for some. <ok>

The issue of more seats for away fans was one raised during the seat move, it was an obvious flaw and always had the potential to be a problem.

Actually you are right, not this season due to the ALLAMS pissing most supporters off.
Probably other seasons the £50 price would have put the non pass-holder city fans off too.

Anyway, Sterling mate is a kind gesture.

9,000 sold when they went on general sale apparently (courtesy of Northern Lights) and they were taken off sale online this morning when a load of muppets tried to buy tickets for delivery to Newcastle addresses. <doh>

So, if looking at previous attendances in the PL they would go for Leeds, Wednesday or Derby.
We couldn't match their attendances, or Brighton's or Norwich's if we sold out every week. The reason they aren't attracting interest is that they aren't in the PL. If they were everyone of them would be a more attractive proposition for a buyer. Better fan base and, more importantly, own their own stadium.
The amount the Allams think our club is worth is ludicrous and is going to blow up in their faces. Unfortunately the effect on the club could be disastrous.

Investors want to make money, there's very little development potential for a clubs that already sell out and have their own stadium. Short of charging fans more or expanding the stadiums there's not a lot they can do. Liverpool won't expand Anfield further because the small increase in revenue would take decades to recoup the cost of the extension.

New owners could potentially increase our attendances by nearly 50% at zero cost to them and then acquire the stadium, both of which would make us substantially more valuable than we currently are.

You're right about the Allams though, they are massively over valuing the club and thats causing problems.

Liverpool have planning permission to extend the Anfield Road end by 4,000 taking capacity up to 58,000.

According to your logic clubs playing in half empty stadiums are a more attractive proposition than Man Utd or Liverpool.
As far as acquiring our stadium goes no potential investor will be given any cast iron guarantees on that one.
And, the valuation placed on the KC by the likes of Geraghty is as realistic as Allam's valuation of
    City.

It's been shelved, due to the negative reaction they got to the price rises in the new stand they built for this season, it's no longer viable.

It hasn't been shelved. They have to proceed byn2019 for itbto go ahead. Which they might, or might not do.
The idea was for the extra tickets to be match day ones and no corporates with the away fans being moved to the other side of the stand.
