Ticket Prices

With the news that Bilbao are proposing to charge fans £77 per ticket for the Europa League game against Manchester United, I was wondering what is the most you have paid to see Spurs, and how much would you be prepared to pay to see Spurs play.

The dearest prices at WHL are in the West stand at £80 for a category A game. Do any of you on here ever pay this ??

Outside the ground every matchday, there are numerous touts offering tickets. Have any of you bought from a tout and if so, how much did you pay ??

I remember the Fulham FA Cup game last season when I witnessed two of our fans paying £150 each to get in the away section when face value was £30.

So what is the most you have paid to see our team and what is the maximum you would be prepared to pay, before preferring to watch it at home on TV ??

I've never sat in the West Stand and never bought off a tout so I think the £60ish I paid for East Upper against Young Boys is the most I've ever paid, although I paid for my Dad too so I guess you could say I paid £120 for the seat.

I bought a ticket in the neutral section for the Fulham game last year, I'm surprised anyone bought off a tout for so much on the day. I remember I sold a ticket to a tout for Fulham at home in the FA Cup(replay, I think) the year before. I asked the guy that sat next to me how much he paid and it was £115 for two tickets, one South Lower and one North Lower, I'd sold his ticket for a score on the way to the ground. Normally I wouldn't deal with touts, they're ****s, but I had two tickets to sell and by the time I'd met up with Forlone to give him one ticket I didn't have time to hang around waiting for a fan.

I've just been taking a closer look at our ticket prices and hadn't realiased just how high they are. I am fortunate enough to have a season ticket, so don't really take too much note of our prices, but £55 for East Upper for a category B game may well be the going rate, but nevertheless is a heck of a lot of dosh when you start building in travel costs plus food and drink expenses.

I have said many times, ticket prices are pricing out core football fans. Young families, mortgages/rents, the ever climbing prices of oil and food mean they are unable to spend £100 to watch their team. £100? a couple of tickets; add to that petrol/transport, buying food out.
At these kind of prices football becomes just a special day out once or twice a season. It's a pity we don't follow the Germans and restrict ticket prices to affordable levels at least in a section of the ground.

While it looks unlikely at the moment, football has been through slumps before and then clubs will rely on the hard core fans who they price out right now.

I've put my 91 cup final story on her a couple of times, i paid the last visible tout £120 back then....worth every penny!

I also paid the same amount for the CL Madrid home game, £65 face valueI think it was. I wasn't expecting to even try for a ticket, me and my mate had just gone up to watch it the Bell n Hare, had a nose in the shop, and on the way out just overheard a lad say he had 2 left, so ripped his arm off....took the tickets and gave him his arm back!

Bloody hell man, that was serious money to pay in 1991 !!! Fair play to you for paying that to watch your team. Can you remember what the face value was for your ticket ??

Without digging it out, it was about £25 quid Spurcat, apart from being in with Forest! , it was a good seat. About 10 or 12 rows back from where Gazza hoofed Garry Parker in the sternum! , i could see the whites of his eyes, he was a madman that day, seriously, close up it was scary.

4 of us went, only one with a ticket, one got a tout ticket similar face value to mine for £80 within 10 minutes of arriving outside, which was about 1.30pm, but he only had one. Me and the other fella got the last 2 off this bloke walking back down Wembley Way at 2.55pm, we'd given up. We'd heard the going rate was going to be about a ton, but as ever, all I could find was piss takers asking for 150.....they were only given short shrift! oh yes, and some nobhead who thought people would carry £400 about for an Olympic Gallery hospitality ticket!

Btw, the tickets had Leicester City stamped on the back...now thats twice I've mentioned them today!

Our ticket prices are a bit silly, but some of the foreign clubs are taking the piss with their price hikes for English fans.
There should be some sort of consistent pricing enforced.

I always try to get a seat in the west stand (because of the view) but never buy off touts. I only get to 7 or 8 games a season because I often work abroad. 8 times a season equates to about the same or a bit less than a season ticket so it is affordable, if I went to every game I would need to look at the options. It costs me another £30 per match to get to WHL and probably £25 in beer/food so the whole cost is closer to £135 per match.

I certainly look at the hospitality packages although I haven't used them yet so I'd probably be prepared to pay a bit more for the odd match if beer and food was thrown in. The biggest problem is that the missus considers it a waste of money as it's often possible to watch the match on tele. I'm planning to take her to a match so she can experience the atmosphere, it might change her opinion.
