You may all love watching German football which i do, but the uproar is currently with fans is horrific. Arrests are up, and there are far more issues arising. The finances are not that great in the world either, if it wasn't for help from the governments, councils etc.... Over 30 clubs would of gone into administration.
Sorry that is rubbish the Bundesliga clubs are the best run clubs in Europe and very few are in the red Player wages don't cripple clubs, and no club can spend more than they can afford That's why pep has joined Bayern, cos he can build from.youth like at Barca
Everybody says "It should be..." but don't actually do anything about it - you still pay the prices, and maybe have the odd moan in the concourse or on an internet forum. That isn't going to do anything. It is simple business sense to charge current prices. I believe that although attendances have dropped this season at the KC, overall income from tickets has increased. Why on earth would anybody cut prices, to get more people in, when they can get more revenue from less? If you want a 'German' experience, then do something about it.
You ignored the point last time I raised it, but I'll try again. There is much to be commended about German football, the ticket prices are great, leading to sell out crowds and much better atmospheres and overall it's a far better model than here. But as City1904 has said, there are some dodgy dealings going on for clubs to meet the financial rules and alcohol in grounds is causing major problems and may well be outlawed in the not too distant. I was out for dinner in Berlin with a pair of Hamburg fans last year and they told me they'd no longer consider takin their kids to a football match, as it was simply too risky.
Sounds to me like the problem isnt the alcohol but the qty that people are consuming. Every stadium here sells booze at games, but each has particular rules about it. In the verizon center you can not buy beer after the 2nd period. In some baseball stadiums it is after the 7th inning. They also limit the qty you can buy at one time making it difficult to get really drunk and be able to watch the game, since you would have to be in the beer line for most of it. Also they are not going to sell you beer if you are clearly trashed. I have been to plenty of hockey games where the cops came into the stands and took people away for acting like a drunken fool. I can not think of any place here that I would be afraid to go and watch a game. Even places like philly that get a bad rap are not dangerous to go even if you are an opposing fan. We dont even have opposition seating either, you will find yourself sitting in a crowd of home fans if you do go to an away game.
Imagine the coppers and stewards running around trying to prevent City fans from making stand like beer snakes.
The last time I saw a drunken dude mouth off to the cops he got tasered, pepper sprayed and then was arrested for drunk and disorderly, resisting arrest, and assault on a police officer. Probably got a couple years in prison. We arnt the most incarcerated nation on earth for nothing. Not to mention what I have seen happen to people who mouth off at cops while in jail. I did have a friend though who was talking to a cop outside a bar while drunk and the cop mentioned the last Oregon Ducks game. He got angry and tossed his beer and it hit the cop car and shattered. Funny stuff. He only had a thousand dollar fine and a conviction but no jail time.
As I understand it, part of the reason Clubs in the Bundeslague look financially sound is that the ones that look as if they're about to struggle are shifted out to save buggering up the stats. A bit like (I think) pompey in the prem proppd up while they were there but shifted out and abandoned.
He was yelling at random cars passing by outside a bar. Wasn't really doing much. The cops are around the area anyway and of course they over reacted and called in a few more as back up. The drunk guy didn't like the fact that about 6 cops were telling him to be quite so he gave them a piece of his mind. Gave them the typical **** yous and what are you going to do about it. So they showed him what they were going to do about it. They use tasers a lot here now. They tend to hit you with them and ask questions later. We do have lots of cop shootings although many are justified. We had a guy killed in a traffic stop by a cop a few weeks back and a cop and a guy were killed a couple towns away when a cop walked up to a guy who happened to be carrying an illegal gun. My town also has a serial bomber strangely enough who likes to blow up the front of stores during rain storms. He has taken out a couple buildings already. Its just a bad idea to start trouble with cops you are likely not to like what happens. I dont like cops but it isnt all their fault. When you have as many illegal and legal guns as we do and as many gangs you can understand why it is the way it is.
Not great if im honest, he had a few shots, but could of done better, think he was subbed late in the game
we are watching Standard Liege v Kortrijk tonight, my first game in Belgium, then staying there the night then watching Borussia Mönchengladbach v Fortuna Dusseldorf, near by in Germany tomorrow afternoon
"As for atmosphere, that has nothing to do with acoustics, roofs etc. it is down to not enough getting behind the team and too many sitting in silence as if at a theatre and disapproving of any show of emotion." You can have a good atmosphere without good acoustics. Just look at Stoke. But it certainly helps to have good acoustics and when people see what can be achieved and enjoy it you get a better atmosphere. The South Stand had good atmosphere but poor acoustics. When people went in Kempton there wasn't as many of them but the acoustics helped tremendously. The KC has terrible acoustics and most people have been put off making an effort.
It's shown that the KC doesn't need good acoustics though. It's just the laziness of the fans. When everybody sings "E-I-E-I-E-I-O, UP THE FOOTBALL LEAGUE WE GO..." it sounds amazing. Only problem is, people now only sing if we score. At 0-0 it's a very quiet, dull atmosphere.

i was talking about adult prices not kids. no kids under 16 should have to pay more than £10 for any game. hope this clears up your confusion.
