What is that Muppet Nick Luck on about? Why would Gosden send Shalaa, who has just won a Group 2 race over six furlongs on a stiff course to contest a Group 2 race, the Gimcrack, over a flat six furlongs at York with a penalty? Surely if he wanted to stay at six furlongs he would head over to Deauville for a Group 1 contest or he would step up to seven furlongs.

Spencer could not give his ex-missus a half decent ride if my money was on him, but rallies a 25/1 shot to floor my sole bet of the day – done in by the penalty.

Golden Horn now 4/5 for the King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes: Mahsoob only out to 20/1 for anybody interested in a Group 2 loser taking on the Group 1 horses.

Johnston is some trainer. His horses run twice as many times as anyone else's but they look as keen as any

Resonant – allowed soft lead by all the other numbskulls riding in the race; made all, won unchallenged.

When are these idiots going to learn that if they let one of Mark Johnston’s horses set the pace for themselves, they are not going to stop like they are shot every time?

Quite like the look of Beat The Ballot 5/1 this evening at leafy Leopardstown 8:30 (sorry Lingfield)..Tracey Collins is shrewd with her placing usually and having disposed of the re opposing Mezogiorno the last day with Witty Repartee in 3rd (has since completed a double) I'd expect Beat the Ballot to be on the premises under the steering of Pat Smullen tonight despite what is a steep rise from the handicapper.

And one with who should appreciate the return to Leopardstown and is back on a winning mark is Strandfield Lady 20/1 E/W In the 7:55. Strandfield Lady appears to relish the month of July more than most with his last 4 wins all coming in July over the past 2 years. Excellent young claimer Conor King (look's like he should be still in Primary School) takes another 3lb off his back and hopefully he continues the trend of winning in July here.

Give her a nice firm pat on the back side stick and tell her Squire will put the bread on the table if she backs it...then casually walk away <ok>

Cheers. I did do the singles and returned a small profit. Some profit is better than nothing though

Ouch! Well done ste. I do think if Beat The Ballot had got a run through he would have won pretty snugly but that's horse racing and Ruler Of France goes in again.

Shout on Starwatch too Oddy over at Epsom.

Easy as you like for Hidden Cyclone at Leopardstown, different class to his rivals. Seemingly he is being aimed toward the Galway hurdle where he look's nicely weighted as opposed to his Chase mark. Judging on that flat run, he could win plenty of pots in that sphere too. Nice little sharpener this evening anyway and shrewd placement from the Shark.
