WELL DONE TONY!! LEGEND, LEGEND, LEGEND! SO PROUD TO HAVE BEEN AT AINTREE WHEN YOU WON THE GRAND NATIONAL, EVEN MORE PROUD OF YOU NOW! A TRUE PROFESSIONAL IN EVERY SENSE OF THE WORD! NORTHERN IRELAND IS SO PROUD OF YOU- GET IN 4000, NOT OUT
No more fitting way for McCoy to get the 4,000 up. Amazing ride. I was on the runner up but cannot begrudge the man after another brilliant performance!
Smashing stuff from a fellow Co.Antrim man!!!! What a jockey, congratulations to AP!Would also mention, keep an eye out for another jockey from the Motherland, wee OisÃn Murphy, he's one for the future! And present time!
AP 4000 special tribute on the At The Races channel at 4-30 this afternoon for those not in front of a TV atm
Maybe, only just remembered SBC tipped it much earlier. Mine was just a last minute punt on a whim...(ah, dear old Oldest).
An appropriate time to reprise a famous "Coleman Balls" moment, where the race commentator exclaims "Tony McCoy takes a look between his legs and likes what he sees"
Well done on your winner today and thank you for your kind words re Bougg. I don't know if many on here know but he is part owned by a very good friend of mine who bought a share in him for his father. Sadly his Dad died before Bougg went jumping so he never saw him in his pomp. He is a gorgeous animal but you cant help but feel he never quite fulfilled his early promise. He was starting to look like his old self this season and the target was the Hennessy, what a day out that would have been. He is adored by his syndicate and you can be sure he will be well looked after. What a horse for a syndicate to be fortunate to own!
Just noted that we could see Cotton Mill clash with FAR WEST on Saturday at Wincanton. That could be a nice race. Far West would be interesting next season as a chaser I think. Cotton Mill wants some good ground. Don't see either in the frame for a Champion Hurdle spot though I'm afraid!
Cheers RV. If he genuinely does jump a fence he'd be a very exciting prospect but for me I think he looks a bit small for chasing. Think he was perfect for hurdling but should have been kept to 2 miles at Cheltenham and 2m 4f at Aintree.
Good point stick. Didn't realise anywhere could be good to firm at present. RP says good, gf in places. Used to be with Charlie who said the horse had an attitude problem. That's 2 possible negatives. Harry Skelton is a "show jumper" and maybe he's built up some rapport with the horse. I don't think good ground should be a problem. Difficult to assess just how good he is as he could have won by a street at Ascot. Maybe not the betting proposition I first thought though.
