Afternoon guys!! As much as I love Hurricane Fly, I just couldn't ignore the 9/1 on offer for LIEUTENANT COLONEL so I've had a small eway poke on that one. Wouldn't begrudge HF 'doing' me though!!
Backed Thousand Stars e/w. Would be on Annie Power if she were running. The Fly and Jezki surely can't stay this trip.
Get in Jezki! Fair play to Hurricane Fly for plugging on in behind, but the extra distance was always going to play into Jezkis hands, as he's bred to stay. Good to see the 2 class acts in the race rising to the top though. Hurricane Fly lost nothing in defeat
Just got back from work to see the fly/jezki match up and thought they gave us a great race... Just not to be for the Fly but I was impressed with Jezki and they left the rest of em with some ease... I was deffo in the camp of they cant get the tip but to me they both looked the 1-2 when they took the turn and that's enough for me to be convinced that they do/did...
Mullins putting the punters away again ...................... Ruby 3rd on the 9/4 fav and D (Declan, Dermot, Davey, Dilan - fecked if I can remember) wins it on the 20/1 shot.
Love to see Un De Sceaux going Tingle Creek, Victor Chandler and Champion Chase next season, then finish off with the Champion Chase at Punchestown. Can't see anything to touch him in the 2 mile chase division.
A very poor performance from Un De Sceaux. His jumping looked dodgy at Cheltemham at times, but today it was awful, he was losing a couple of lengths at every fence to Just Cameron. His engine in the end has bailed him out but he's had to work hard to beat a 148 rated horse. Maybe he didn't like going right handed, and will be better going left. But you have to conclude that that was very disappointing. Anyone who was thinking next years Champion Chase was a full gone conclusion may think twice about investing at the stupidly short odds that he's been quoted at by the bookies
Ruby said he was hating the ground Shergar, going towards firm. He's much better than that but needs some juice to be seen at his best.
