Big punt going on in old boy Squire’s race – Fleckerl (20’s into 7/1). Connections have obviously been plotting something because after 4 runs at 5-6 furlongs they step him back up to a mile this evening. Fleckerl runs off 74 which is 5 lbs below his last winning mark and 17 lbs off his peak. The useful Louis Steward has been booked. But come on The Squire you can foil such dastardly goings on. Good luck me, old loves.

Meanwhile, Cocktails At Dawn put in the Grand National, troops. 80/1 available! Nudge, nudge, wink, wink, say no more...

Remember that horse that ran through the last fence at Doncaster last week, Ypsilanti? Goes today in the last, over hurdles, at Towcester

Couple of interest today at Towcester.
I think Sophie Leech may do well with 2 of hers, with Quarry Wizard in the 2.45 and Winston Churchill in the 3.55. Thinking of an each way double, there.
In between, in the 3.20, there's another Fergal runner in Socksy, who might be worth a go, for the win, too.

Over on the Fibresand at Southwell, I like the look of Imjin River in the opener, for a bit of value, despite being 6lb out of the weights.

    Good Luck all.

Beaten 6l. The winning time was a full half a sec slower than when he won over course and distance. Clearly ran nowhere near his best tonight. Obviously well fancied (backed into fav, drifted then backed in again) but probably feeling the effects of a busy 2 months (5 races). A very well earned rest he's about to have.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Peach of a ride too so such a shame he didn't finish like we know he can. He needs a break.
