I didnt fancy anything so never had a bet. I did however put up two bumper winners that day in Highland Hunter and Stoney Mountain so it was a good day.

Friends at Botti's tell me they rate the chance of DORCHESTER (9/2) 4.55 Chelmsford today. Having had a look I am concerned over the newcomer JOUVERT who has attracted support and comes from a really nice family, could be well above average.

gowran park, 3 00: THYESTES CHASE

the slightly disappointing run from MR DIABLO last time out is best forgotten,as his trainer admitted to have run him too soon again then, but the troytown form looks rock-solid now, with the first(tout et permis)and third(magic of light) winning again since,so if hes back to that form today, could be very dangerous off his low weight..definite e w value..

Given how long he was left in front I thought it was impressive.

I had a silly bet in the 4.55 Chelmsford.

The first two didn't make any appeal at 2/1 and I went for the rank outsider at 100/1.

    Hanbury Dreams
improved about a stone from run 1 to run 2 and could come on again. It's a tricky affair and a daft £1 E/W was invested for the crack.

Presenting Percy seems tobe getting rave reviews. He did well enough but these were hardly the cream of staying hurdlers today. He showed he's all well but I doubt it warranted cutting to 11/4 for the Gold Cup.

I mean, 9/4 for today's race or 11/4 for the Gold Cup? It's hardly a Mastermind job to see which was better value of those options. Life will be tougher at Cheltenham.

    gowran park,3 35:

although EX PATRIOT was a long way behind duc de genievres on his chase/seasonal debut, ive always liked him a lot as a decent hurdler, and he should be wiser and fitter today,so a better showing wouldnt surprise me at all..

While I’m on just to say that I see that one of this forum’s favourite horses of recent times is back on these shores and trying his hand in the old point-to-point / hunter chasing sphere. Be afraid be very afraid, people, because Newsworthy is back! Furthermore, potentially the old boy is only 1 run away from qualifying for the ‘Cheltenham Foxhunters’.
