Crikey, the Winter Derby is a minefield of monkeys! Theyre all talented but you don't know whos gonna turn up and do the business.

MyplaceLater is a very interesting Richard Fahey recruit for Marwan Koukash and if they find any improvement, that horse will be bang there, so at 12/1 I think you have to consider it because 7/2 on the likes of Premier Loco just isn't value. I agree that Soorah is overpriced, too. MPL ran some very encouraging races last season, running on into 2nd behind CRYSTAL CAPELLA (Grp 1 filly), again a never nearer 4th to MODUN, and a good 2nd to Godolphins smart filly SAJHAA at York. There looks a real bit of pace in this race- Cai Shen, Suits Me, and sometimes, whgen keen, Black Spirit all love to try and dominate their races, so my vote goes to Myplacelater, who gets a mile and a half strongly and therefore a truly run 10f on a surface where she has some excellent efforts to her name looks the standout value.

Koukash started very well last season in handicaps and tries his luck at nabbing the Winter Derby to mark the beginning of another interesting silver-colour summer.
