Unic De Bersy e/w for me in the Thyestes - still relatively unexposed for an 8YO and has been knocking on the door recently off this mark. Just creeps in off bottom weight and the jockey takes off 3.
Thyestes very competitive and I like one near the bottom LEAVETHELIGHTON, who has shaped like a slightly bigger stamina test would suit of late, and has made late headway. Always looked like he had a big handicap in him and at least he's on the right terms here. Agree that Mala Beach looks the real danger to everyone- although I'm waiting for him to go even further up in trip. Ground might make it enough of a test for him today though and wouldn't put anyone off.
2.45 Wincanton- Big Society- 7/1 A horse in form who will love the ground - altho can be bit lazy has the cheek pieces on which should be able to eek out abit more improvement in him and sharpen him up
I had a long hard look at Liz Doyle's runner too Toppy but I find him maybe a little one-paced for this? Might plod on into a place though
Morning, crew. Cor blimey there’s more tips on this thread than an average waiter receives in a month! And breathe... Incidentally, I hear that Mr Henderson may be about to have a new favourite beverage. Say farewell to the GnT and hello to the BLOODY MARY. Nudge, nudge, wink, wink, say no more... Good luck, pilgrims.
I work with a chap who is a Bristol City supporter, although I’d never admit to such a fact in polite company, and he’s lamenting uncontrollably right now as Stuart Pearce has now gone long odds-on to be their next ‘gaffer’. In fact so pale and angst has he gone that a bed in the sick bay is being made up for him right now. Personally, I can never get over how clubs like this have for decades been taking one step forward and then two steps back. Although I’m a million miles away from being a Bristol City fan they, undoubtedly, have the scope to be at least the equivalent of a Stoke, Soton or Swansea but seem to make so many bad decisions. And I must concur with him. How can chaps who fail time and time again get, or be offered as it appears Pearce may very soon be, management job after management job?!?
I'm hoping the lovely Venetia Williams has a good day at Wincanton and thrown these in a L31... KAP JAZZ RENARD ROYAL PALLADIUM LEVIATHAN JOHN LOUIS Good luck all!!
Got to have a bet on Ziggys Star 4.05@Southwell ( not like me to oppose a Johnston horse, but I can't ignore this one!)
In the Thyestes, I might well go for Ucello Conti, having just watched a rerun of the Paddy Power Chase at Leopardstown on Dec 27th.
And one more, whilst I eat my ham and mustard sandwich ( with crisps, of course ). Zephyros Bleu 1.35@Wincanton
Kingscombe 25/1 at southwell seems over priced for this proven course performer...distance shorter than usual but has won at the trip....
Not a bad effort that, think he got 6th. Might be worth following on better ground, travelled nicely but couldn't quicken with them
