Delighted with Golden Horde at 9/1, he battled well to outpoint Threat today. The Racing Post race report states that Threat was outpaced in the closing stages but ot seemed clear that Golden Horde just stayed that bit better. The Richmond is not a race I use as a guide to the Guineas at all. Far more turn out to be sprinting sorts and a good proportion fail to progress at 3YO. Last year's winner Land Force did not do much afterwards, running next in the Prix Morny, a race narrowly won by Pretty Pollyanna. He was well beaten in that Group 1 contest, a race where there have been ZERO winners in 34 starts since. Hard to imagine today's field playing a part in the Guineas next season and Threat was pushed out to 33/1 after today's race.
9/1 e/w works out at just over 5/1 Thats why I dont bother with e/w at under 14/1 and very rarely even then, you back a couple of a single figures e/w you are asking for your account to be closed.
