Morning

1.30 Ayr-Morisco @ 11-8 [Bet 365]

Looks a rock solid Fav
very much so.won well two starts back, and ran respectably in the acomb stakes afterwards.that form is head and shoulders above anything else here,so he has a definite shout today.

yarmouth,1 50:

i think, this can go to GOBI SUNSET,whose win last time out is working out pretty well, and should be on the premises once again.

Tricky card at Southwell but I think we have plenty of value in the markets. Port Soif (again) looks interesting in the second at double figure odds.

Morisco was one of those rare examples of value at Evens. Even allowing for the 3 lbs penalty, he had 19 lbs in hand of the opponents who had already run and the only real danger would have been a fairly well above average newcomer.

Today's runner up was rated 67 for his first start and Morisco may have won this running to a lower mark than he did at York.

Today I went with the "nothing succeeds like success" theory and did two at Pontefract.

Anna Bunnina is on the hat-trick and only up 2 lbs after a pair of neck wins. I don't fancy the favourite, who is dropped to a tempting mark but has nit won for ages. Anna Bunnina seems to act on most ground and has been mainly very consistent. She should go close.

In the 3.40 Gale Force Maya goes for four on the trot and while the handicapper will catch up eventually, an extra five ponds may not stop her and she is a course and distance winning filly in form.

3.10 Pon Anna Bunnina 7/2
3.40 Pon Gale Force Maya 3/1

two singles and a double.

pontefract,4 40:

both ballylemon and pianissimo are respected, but neither looks above standard,so the value could well lie with newcomer ISOCRATES,who has an appealing pedigree, and his yard is going quite well at present.definite shout.

Please can you put where the ratings are from? because it’s highly misleading when you state them like they are official marks.

I take your point and will clarify whose ratings I am quoting in future. In many cases it will be the Racing Post Ratings simply because there are no other figures available.

My pair were both second today. Anna Bunnina went off an incredible 11/2 and ran on well to fail by a short head. She would have won in another stride.

Gale Force Maya looked to have timed it perfectly as she swept into the lead but the 74 rated bottom weight summoned a turn of foot Dancing Brave would have been proud of and flew through to win by a length. My selection was 3 and 3/4 of a length ahead of the third and to add insult to injury Lady Of Aran was a former selection of mine when 3rd at 14/1 earlier in the season. Both today's selections may run well again next time out. Railport Dolly was 5lbs better in with Anna Bunnina from their last meeting but was beaten further on the better terms today, never involved as 2nd Fav

I was surprised to see Sonja Henie and Glasses Up the prices they were today. 5/2 and 15/8 looked mighty skinny for those two. I found better value but yet again no cigar.
