Hope you employ a better cashier than last year! Last year you forgot to pay out my 'pretendy' £5000 on my Mullins bet lol
I know, I missed the pesky Don Poli winning a handicap. To be fair, there was quite a lot of "bets" placed, only missing one that I "settled" by memory is not too bad. 21 horses I put up all single figures and high profile, only 3 of them won, Quevega, Faugheen and Sire De Grugy Would have been close if I let Bob put his original bet on with Briar Hill but would still have lost.
Geraghty and AP both up at Huntingdon for one rode each, 2 singles and a double for me Different Gravey 3:50 @ 15/8 Vaillant Creek 4:55 @ 7/2
Interesting chelts review fron goat pub last night especially from brian cooper.im sure the whole preview will be put up online somewhere but you should check out @rossmoyno7 on twitter who gave live update
Fairly decent racing at Clonmel today but it's not often you see the best race is the first on on the card. Aklan is fav for the Champion trainer and is being backed. There's a good chance he's showing a hell of a lot at home because based on what we've seen on the track since he switched from the flat to NH, you wouldn't make him favourite today. Western Boy ran Vautour relatively close last year over hurdles and has the highest rating in the field. However, he struggles to win races and looks to me to have gone off the boil this year. Argocat is having his first run of the season so is entitled to need the outing and as he's clearly a chaser i'm expecting his connections will have left a bit to work on and will be planning on this run bringing him on. For those reasons I think the front three are worth taking on. I think this is a fascinating race because of the presence of two horses, Killer Crow and Cliff House, who both receive weight today. Killer Crow for Cooper and the Gigg is a very decent animal. Good enough to contest a grade one LTO. He didn't do anything that day. His run against Fine Article, who has franked the form, is certainly a better effort and a reproduction of that would definitely see him very competitive today. He's the choice of the Giggs retained rider and i'd be hopeful, at 6/1, of getting a place at the least. Cliff House needed the run on his hurdle debut and proved himself to be much better for the hurdling experience when beating the very good bumper horse, Royal Caviar on his next start. I'd had RC down as a bit of a professional loser but having looked at it again, i think he's just bumped into one the last twice when behind Windsor Park and Cliff House. I could have it wrong though and RC could be a bottler over hurdles, in which case i might have overrated Cliff House. However, Boylesports are 12/1 about him and he'd be overpriced at that. Unfortunately, I can't get a bet on with Boylesports and don't think he's worth a bet at the 10/1 best priced elsewhere so it will be a moral victory only if the fates align and he pulls off the win today. At the prices i've backed Killer Crow each way and will be watching Cliff House with hope that he can show something. Ideally, as i'm not backing him today, i'd like him to run okay without challenging so that he can pick up a nice mark with handicaps in mind.

One must confess that on hearing the current quotes of 7/4 re Vosne Romanee I uttered 2 words, ‘Reasonable, reasonable’. If I can be Frank for a moment, instead of Barney, I was expecting the latter number to be larger than the former digit. U follow???
It was in Ireland Hully! The RSA could be a race for the ages by the way they are talking Don Poli up. Phil Smith has Coneygree as better than Denman in his novice chasing season so to be so bullish about Don Poli is a huge statement of intent.
BIG PODCAST NEWS GENTS. If you read my posts you might have seen me mentioning the Final Furlong Podcast on several occasions. I keep saying it is well worth a listen. Beefy definitely takes it in every week. They've announced they are now in partnership with ATR and i think you can now listen to the pod every week on the ATR site. They usually have Robbie McNamara on, Kevin Blake, Noel Hayes who used to own Our Connor and now owns another very interesting Triumph prospect for next season. It will improve your racing knowledge and is maybe the best hour of my racing week. http://www.attheraces.com/article.aspx?hlid=551635
So Tony McCoy’s last Cheltenham Gold Cup ride is going to be Carlingford Lough. Is anybody supposed to be surprised by that? Would he really get off the horse that won him his first Irish Hennessy for his retained owner in favour of Holywell? Granted Jonjo’s charge has two Festival wins to his name but he won an egg and spoon race last time at Kelso.
spoke to Lenzio Thornton this morning, he is at Sedgefiield for 1 race and has a great chance Light the City 2.30pm Sedgefield Stay Frosty
Jockey's tips are always risky, added to the fact that myopic Andrew is much better over fences IMHO. However, will have a small punt, thank you! As for 'staying frosty', no problem where I am in this scheiss weather.
Bob...very amusing!!!!!! "Holywell has as much interest in racing as the Pope has in women" - Robbie Power
Unlucky Heis. Either the horse is a massive dodge pot or your man has just ridden possibly the worst ride of the month.
