The opener has some interesting pedigrees on show. I particularly like Centasia, by Presenting out of a Hernando mare and Woodland Walk (but see below)

The 14.50 is a very interesting race with Bincombe, Ray Diamond, Umberto D'olivate, Ballinvarrig and Hollow Blue Sky all looking interesting improving sorts. On that basis alone it really makes it a no bet race although, if pushed I would go with Binnecombe. So that's obviously one to avoid.

Towcester
stick's mare runs in the bumper. stick advised not to back her on début and that proved good advice, even though she was backed at long odds by someone. Interestingly Fehily was down to ride but now I see the claimer Kielan Woods (3) is down to ride and Fehilly goes to Exeter to ride Blue Buttons in the opener for Harry Fry with whom he has a 35.19% strike rate. It appears to be his only ride of the day. I guess that means Present Trend is out for another exercise gallop, being prepared for a race more in keeping with her pedigree.

2.30 Southwell

Miako 3/1

Trainer Mick Appleby has his horses in blistering form with 9 winners from his last 19 runners and I think his relatively lightly raced 3 year old Miako could take a lot of stopping here today. A very ready 5L scorer off a mark of 62 over C+D in a 0-75 handicap back in February, Miako finds himself just 2lb higher than that mark today off 64 as he drops back in a Class 6 for the first time since his handicap debut. He then followed that victory up with a good 3rd off a mark of 72 over this C+D back in March and despite not being at his best in 4 subsequent starts the handicapper has relented quite quickly and he now looks on a mark that he should be more than capable of scoring off. Having returned from a 5 month absence at Wolverhampton last month which should have put him spot on for this, if returning to anything near the form of his rout earlier in the year then Miako could take stacks of beating from a good draw in stall 9 for a yard that are absolutely flying.

I'm going to avoid them all and go for Moleskin

"booked a house on the baltic coast for 5 nights over new year. Should be nice" should be well baltic too mate, have a good one, finished work today, well working from home until Monday, then back to the Motherland on Monday night, 5 days back in Belfast can't wait to see family and friends.

<cheers> mate. Yeah, plenty of winter woolies will be packed. Just want a break from the madness that is Berlin New Years Eve - it's like they're trying to recreate the Blitz or something <yikes>
