A huge bet to be had this evening at Chelmsford which may appeal to any weight watchers especially. Chelmsford 7.10 One Pekan 11-2 This horse got beaten 1 1/2 lengths by Supersta earlier in the month and now meets the same horse on 12lb better terms officially but a whopping 19lb better terms for those who are happy to include the apprentice allowance. As it is Cameron Noble who looks to be ok and as entrusted by Roger Verian then that's good enough for me to include it. If a horse cannot turn 1 1/2 lengths with a 19lb advantage there must be something wrong with the idea of handicapping with weight. Of course these are not the only 2 horses in the race but if we look at it as One Pekan got within 1 1/2 lengths of a horse that won his next two races then he must be on a good mark, we then get a turn around or 19lb against the same horse then 11-2 looks very generous and could just be the bet of the week. I would still have considered the horse worth a decent bet at 11-4 so I am pushing the boat out at 11-2.
