    Just noticed the race times were generally very quick STH, so I guess that throws further doubt on the merit of the performance.

    I mean all the races on the card were fast, which makes me think the going description wasn't completely accurate i.e. the ground was riding faster than good to yielding <ok>

    I won't hold that against you. The jumps are far more exciting for me as well.

    It's simply where I fancy one or two against the field. But occasionally have a saver on a bigger priced shot. The intention is have a decent bet on the one (or 2 depending on prices) that I think should win but to cover my stake /minimise the loss if something else beats them. Nothing too scientific. When inviting a name for these bets stick came up with"****er Bet" and it has stuck (so to speak).
