Saw that in the Racing Post. Not too surprised that some bookies are still offering it at 8/1. My sole ante-post bet down already... Might start looking at the 1000 Guineas as it is still 10/1 the field and the winner is in there somewhere (can see why the Ballydoyle filly is favourite, though). I cannot recall it ever being that open in March. Just shows what a mixed bag the 2018 two-year-old races threw up with so many sprint-bred winners. Hope that something emerges from the trials or the 2000 Guineas could be a single-figure field...
No problem Reebok, I left Paisley Park alone as the bookies had made it ridiculously short by Thursday morning. I got 15/2 Frodon with Paddys and I had a free bet with them after my first race horse got beat and backed Siruh Du Lac at 6/1. Trouble is I may not have another winner at Cheltenham for five years as I have backed four winners with Friday to go and I normally average one winner a year! Glad the fairytale came in with Paisley Park as the bookies taking a hammering and the small owner beating the big guys is all good publicity for the sport in Friday’s papers.
That was a really strange one running Road To Respect in the Ryanair with the Gold Cup looking wide open, can only imagine its because they sponsor the race, could easily have ran top 4 in the Gold Cup on a good day.
