All clear on the colonoscopy. Not the most pleasant thing I've ever experienced, but there was a pretty nurse there holding my hand. No anasthetic for me Swanny, didn't fancy it mate. Didn't really hurt though.
Lovely winner Dan mate Good to hear Oddy, guess you won't be going for one of those things where they stick a hose up and wash you out then!!
Celtic Dane 8/1 8:00 Leopardstown - Was previously a 104 rated animal and has won off a mark of 94 several years ago. His last win was over 2 years ago off 85 and he since has struggled somewhat and has therefore slid all the way down to a now paltry 61 , which he runs of this evening. All these horses are pretty well exposed at this stage and I am hopeful if Celtic Dane can show signs of his old ability he will win here at a track he has won at before. Kevin Prendergast trains and I don't think he would be too keen keeping him on if he didn't feel there was another few races in the old boy. It's an apprentice handicap and Gary Paul Halpin will do the steering taking a further 2lbs off. He is versatile regarding trip having been tried from 5f to 1m6f over the years and today he races over the mile and although he has no secrets to hide I am just hoping he can land this contest as he is dangerously well handicapped on old form should any of that ability rear it's head from the past.
Archers - he was brilliant then wasn't he? Great ride on the winning favourite. I would love a split screen of his ride on the Cumani horse in the first that came 4th and the winning ride on the 4pm. Chalk and cheese. PART 5 - GENERAL DUTIES OF RIDERS - (D)30 to (D)57 45. Riding to achieve the best possible placing 45.1 A Rider must 45.1.1 ride his horse throughout the race in such a way that he can be seen to have made a genuine attempt to obtain from his horse timely, real and substantial efforts to achieve the best possible placing, and 45.1.2 take and be seen to take all other reasonable and permissible measures throughout the race, however it develops, to ensure the horse is given a full opportunity to achieve the best possible placing. 45.2 For the purposes of Paragraph 45.1, whilst it is not necessary for the Rider to use the whip, the Rider must give his horse at least a hands and heels ride. 45.3 But the Rider must pull up the horse where 45.3.1 it is lame or injured, 45.3.2 it is exhausted, or 45.3.3 the Rider considers that it would be contrary to the horse's welfare to continue riding out because the horse 45.3.3.1 has no more to give or is 'tailed off' through fatigue, or 45.3.3.2 has a problem which is materially affecting its performance. 45.4 Where the horse is lame or injured, the Rider must dismount immediately and must not ride to a finish.
That is part of the process mate - my innards are as clean as a whistle at this very moment. Unfortunately they left a load of air in there which is slowly trying to escape ............ bloody painful I can tell you. I got to watch the whole thing on TV as well - quite interesting actually.
I used to really admire Fallon as a jockey but these day's I am more put off if I see he riding one I fancy, not sure what changed my attitude towards him but it slowly has.
I know it's not usually clever to take on a Prescott handicapper running up a sequence but in the 4.20 at Yarmouth the Bell horse Deficit looks way to big in a market dominated by the Prescott horse. Yarmouth 4.20 Defecit 4-1 win Arcalis & Deficit in a Revesre forcast This should show a profit hopefully, or at least cover stake. As I see it's only the Hamdan horse that needs keeping out of the equation.
Glad to hear it Oddy. Wonderful to see MORPHEUS win, I'm sure Sir Henry will be smiling down. They thought the world of him as a two year old, but he's had so many niggling problems and, judging by the way he carried his head in the later stages of the race, he has a few ideas about the game himself!
Congrats Oddy. Top news. Very small four fold for me tonight. Only a tenner but I'm keen enough without being confident. First time I've ever done a bet like that. Bracelet Club Wexford Reply Tickled Pink Probably won't come in
George lad, I tell you something, after that stuff they give you some hours beforehand, you ain't, believe me!
This is just like old times - where's Fluber? Good to hear though Oddy - had blood tests the other week and was mightily relieved to get the all clear.
