He would be mad to get rid of Henry he can help us grind out 1-0's by giving the defence extra protection. Can't say I've seen him have too may bad games and he's a trier.

Just Remember "We wouldn't be in this position with 11 Jamie Mackie's"

I can understand what your saying, I was thinking more of what's in Harry head. (Mind you that may turn out to be the most unhealthy place to put myself cos god knows what Harry is thinking sometimes.)

I'm with you and Dave on Henry. From what I have read he is improving too.

Putting the bad performances aside, surely the lack of goals is a worry?

I have been to 5 games this season including pre-season and seen goals in just 1 game (Leyton Orient). This new system was meant to solve our goalscoring problem by allowing 2 strikers in the team. So far that hasn't worked.

Not saying we should change the system, but something is wrong clearly.

I'm all for experimenting but the trick is knowing when to recognise it's time to try something else. Like you, I'm not saying scrap the 352 yet but I do hope they are at least thinking on these lines.

Agree, but in addition I fear we also lack a real creative midfielder..without Ale in the team is there anyone else bar a fit and ready Adel of course !
Barton, Mutch, Henry seem to be the grafters, and the likes of Fer, Phillips and Hoillett have the pace but its that creativity we need a 'Hoddle' in the middle ?

Why listen to him? I knew Taarabt is still by far our best player at the club followed closely by Faurlin. This is all about deflecting blame away from himself. He never accepts responsibility. I agree with Swords on Dunne and about time people on here realise exactly how many headers he wins. He had his chance to clear out who he wanted and he has formed this squad. Henry also very important. This is just again a sound bite from Harold and as a man he has no honour IMO … I have yet to witness him being sincere in 25 years of football.. a sad case on a man who fell in love with himself and the hype around it

I would of played Remy without question as on his own he would of had at least 7 shots on target last night … No argument and it would of only taken one goal to change that game

DT. I wouldn't disagree with what you've said cos I can understand how and why you've come to your conclusions. The only thing I would bring to your attention is something regarding Dunne. I totally agree he's awesome in the air I wouldn't question that, but once it's so well known by our rivals that he is too immobile on the ground, it offers them a well established route round him. As the saying goes, you are only as strong as your weakest link and the weakest link in Dunne's skill set these days in his lack of ability to move quickly. It's a matter of does his strengths outweigh his weaknesses and in this case (IMO) they don't. The prem is full of pace, even at mid table level, let alone the top 7. And reading play may help but in a footrace the on a counter attack, he will be exposed I think. Interested to hear your thoughts though cos tactically I do think you have a very knowledgeable opinion.

I would be very careful if I was TF about a new contract for Arry, not saying the results will carry on like this but if we are in a dodgy position come jan, he might want to out him & could cost us mega buck if he signs new contract.

IMO Harold needs to decide on his set up for the side, be it 352, 4231, 4411 or whatever and stick with it. Last night by all accounts 352 was dropped in favour of a flat back 4, why? If 352 is to continue then play Rio, Dunne or Clint in the middle depending on opposition and fitness, with Caulker & Ned either side or give Ehmer a chance. If a back 3 has been ditched then Ned & Caulker have to be the center back pairing with the other 3 as back up and play Henry/Faurlin/Fer in front of them as protection.....It's not rocket science.

Harold just needs to decide what route to go down and stick with it so that everyone knows what their role is.

Just watched the Dunne clonker … it was rash very rash but we had enough on the pitch to do better up the other end. IMO Dunne or any other player in this group has to stay

Harold has promoted a casual way of playing since he has been here and likes to move the ball around and credit to that but there seems only one gear at times. Dunne not the best on the deck but vital for our club for getting his head on things.

Formations aren't the problem at the moment … we move the ball far too slowly IMO and build far too slowly … that is Harold's and the coaching staff's fault as it looks all too fragile
I am sure we will get better at it but I would like to see a lot more expression in the side … currently only Hoilett has that in our team and he was the reason we won the play off final. We need invention and the madness of Adel Taarabt who looked like he was playing a far better game than anyone on the pitch …thats football today too much theory

So Charlie is out "with a knock" and Zamora is only good for a half. Vargas hasn't got clearance yet and won't be match fit.

What formation would we play against Sunderland on Saturday if Remy was injured on the Wednesday?

Yes, we might well be in the next round of the cup but we would have little chance of getting anything out of the Sunderland game.

The league HAS to be the priority, but we shouldn't discount the Cup competitions. The players who went out there on Wednesday were more than capable of winning and should have done so.

Fitness has nothing to do with preseason games, match fitness is another thing. First thing for HR and his staff must have been to get the players fit and 6 weeks should be enough time.
So if we played better opponents preseason, say Inter, Bayern, Valencia, Celtic and lost them all 4-0 - HR would have said they were to strong ö you need to play weaker teams (like Burton) to get the confidence going.

If some club want to pay a lot of money for Matt Phillips, then fine, otherwise I'd be disappointed to see him go. He's young, came with a good record and showed flashes of what he could do before his bad injury. We haven't seen the best of him yet
