It will come as no surprise that I disagree with your summary of super's post, I think it is bang on the money that if you have "supporters" making the atmosphere poisonous at CR, it will have a negative effect on the team! Why is that so difficult to see?
Again, I think that is missing the wider point, which is that everyone is entitled to their opinion, and they are also entitled to express it. If you think that Hughton is the anti-Christ and genuinely believe he is sending the club you love into decline, surely you would want to take the opportunity to express that opinion in the strongest possible way?
well chris hughton isn't the 'anti-christ'. he's a football manager and this is just another example of the stupid over the top attitude some people have. he did a pretty good job last season. he's struggled this season. some people think another guy could do a better job, others think he needs more time. i'm one who thinks if there is somebody better out there we should replace him, same as we would with any player. i just don't think there is anyone better out there at this moment in time. as a long term appointment i was fully behind him and still am but the summer will be a big moment because i can't see him being here next season. but if you think creating a poisonous atmosphere inside the ground is going to help then i hope you never go to games.
And I suppose that's the nub of it isn't it. Some of us believe Hughton is doing exactly that - risking our Premier League status.
Again, you are missing the point. Either deliberately through pig-headedness or inadvertently through ignorance.
what an absolute charmer you are. you are exactly the sort of fan that is adding to the turmoil, much of which could be avoided. well i really can't be bothered posting on here anymore what with everything that is going on privately so OTBC and let's hope the sane amongst us pull together and we can survive this season and build again next, in the premier league. i really couldn't care less how we do it or who is in charge. its football. it doesn't matter.
I believe under Hughton we could nick a few 1 zero wins and just about scrape through but when the nick 1 goal and sit on a lead tactic doesn`t work we are made to look ridiculous. After conceding the first goal the stuffing has been knocked out of the players and fans and THAT is the feeling of doom and gloom that i recognise, i am not a football manager and don`t pretent to be an expert but the team selection at times has been strange to say the least and CH`s ability to highlight problems and make changes takes way too long or not at all. I have no intention to fall out with fellow posters like you constantly read on here most days but i also don`t subscribe to the hard nosed stubborn attitude by some that if you don`t follow the forums line of thought then you are not a real fan and open to abuse. Clearly Hughton will not be going anywhere and McNally has opted for the easy option to hope for the best but those victories over Spurs Everton Man u Man City and Arsenal gave us belief that we can mix it with the best and provided 12 unlikely points last season. Our best victory this season was probably against Stoke. We simply need to score more than 3 goals a month and keep even more clean sheets. Whatever happens i will still be passionate about my team OTBC.
And that's another key difference of opinion isn't it. You just want Norwich to be in the Premier League and "couldn't care less how we do it" whereas many of us care very passionately about how we do it.
The adjectives you subsequently used to describe Super's opinion... "bloated, self-important, patronising, rant, pigheaded, ignorant" ...were perhaps not the best choices to convey respect?
perhaps, though perhaps not as damaging as describing someone who does not share his opinion as insane.
