I would say Blackburn are as well, only 1 team left <ok>

I think the bottom teams are in a bigger fix than the bottom three were last year.after 12 games the 3 bottom clubs are on 6,7 and 9 points.After 12 games last season it was 8/9/11. When you are scoring little more than a point every other game 2 points can take a long while coming.I think Stoke are going to get drawn in.

Well if Delia deemed him 'unsuitable' then i guess she must be right. Did she say that when she was sober?

sadly when you mention Delia in the same breath as TF and the Mittal family it really does show that as club you are small fry in the 'bigger picture'. Football has changed and those who act like dinosaurs will become extinct.

<laugh>

what a load of baloney!!

This time last year on the old 606 board I was debating our future with some Reading posters and was mocked for what I said. Basically I told them that QPR were gearing up for Premiership football and would be going places on and off the field and that we were a million miles away from them now.

But you were not thinking that 1 week from the start of the new season were you and especially 1 week after the start <ok>

Since you rid yourselves of the other F1 cretin, life does indeed look much rosier for QPR, cannot doubt that.

I must say I am lost with your comments about ‘branding and Publicity’ because surely if a plane or an F1 car has a logo on it and with the right connections that can lead to deals/sponsorship then surely that would generate money for the club.

What I was trying to say, perhaps not too well or certainly not well enough was....not all advertising works, basically. A potential investor wants something in return, on that I think we can agree but QPR at this point in time have little to offer when compared to most other PL teams. Now, if QPR can remain in the PL (Ideally in the top half), a shiny new ground is built that permits a significant increase in capacity at that point a potential investor would think much harder about the proposition.

The other part of the equation is - would all the advertising alone increase the fan base, sell more shirts, scarves etc, attract bigger shirt & team sponsorship - again if they remain in the PL etc - it is quite likely. The down side from the QPR point of view, as things are today is - it's a catch 22 situation. Until established in the PL and a new ground is built I do not think much will change.

Jager - As an example - MOST ManU supporters come from outside Manchester. I have to admit millions worldwide - how does that work with only local supporters?

I have had this discussion elsewhere, basically your club, and clubs like yours leach football supporters from different cities within the UK, of course it people's choice to choose whatever team they like, but a few friends of mine said to me some years ago, why go down and watch the Swans? They are crap, and will never get anywhere, they were watching some other team in the premier league on TV in a pub. I said to them, yes they are crap, but they are my crap team, from my home town, what connection do you have to either team on TV? The answer was my dad supported them, or some other crap, like lemmings they did the same!

As for supporters from abroad they support who they support here, there is no excuse for someone supporting teams like yours in Swansea, I would say 99% of them have never even been to the stadium to support the club they say they support, yet spend money on them <doh>

JAGER - I don't understand why you are so dismissive as if its only your view that counts.
Hundreds of thousands of kids get taken to their Dad's team - and form an attachment.
Others who know nothing pick up being a fan from mates in the school playground- no connection. Some want to be on the winning side so select the current PL winners. These days I expect many find a 'hero' (or thug) watching SKY - and must get confused when they move on for more money !!!

So lots of reasons.

Sir, it is your prerogative to support who the hell you wish, and change that support as often as you wish! I fully accept that, but I will never ever understand it!

<ok>

I'll be lucky to see 10 more. Shall I wind you up by saying - I want my ashes halved - some at the centre spot at Emirates, the rest at Loftus Road !!
<laugh>

Where have I said my view only counts ? I would say you are dismissive of my view point to be honest, the attachment or I prefer to say leaching from other areas is what larger clubs do!

I don't understand it either, I mean I was a kid growing up with parents who didn't like football at all, my brother is a passionate rugby fan, and sisters were into other things. I supported the swans since I was about 7 , I was growing up with the same influences as other kids, but I stuck supporting my local team.

For me an attachment would be if you are from that town or city or live there maybe you actually go to games and support them, to say you support a team simply because they are on TV is not a real attachment !

I do actually support another team, but they are not in this country, I lived there for over 4 years and still follow them now, even though it's been a decade since I last been to one of their games. I have a connection there and watched many many games, but they would never replace my home town team.

Yeah I understand your point Thai, was just trying to work out if you were interested in football or just Norwich, and you answered that perfectly. Perhaps Thai football is so crap that neither you nor the locals can be bothered with it. In which case they are simply following the teams with the best marketing and on telly the most. Can't really blame them....

I cannot comment too much on local football as I have not seen too much of it but from what I have seen it is very different. Well it would be in this heat. It's a slower game with lots of time to play the passes.

If I was to watch a team here it would be the local one though, not the best one in the country <ok>

I do not know what the appeal is for Thai's other than they like to follow winners

A bit taken aback by your last sentence Ellers, perhaps my insight is not as poor as you believe. Publicity is one thing but getting people on board because they saw a pretty passenger carrier in the local airport or sports car whizzing around a F1 circuit is completely different. Yes, the name QPR might be better known in time and while you could argue the toss "well it's worldwide brand then", it's pretty meaningless if nothing else comes from it other than the name being known more widespread.

I have no idea if what TF plans to do will work or not, and I suspect neither do you. I accept he is doing lots of nice things for QPR and certainly saying all the right things but isn't that what all new investors do during the early part of their tenure - make all the right noises? The proof of the pudding will be in the eating at a much later date. If his grand plans pay off, then great for QPR. If they do not, do not be too surprised is all I am saying.

NO Flav said straight away there is no blood here to suck ,so all blood suckers can forget that, and don't bother coming looking for it.( just imagine italian accent)
