I'm sure everyone is aware of the reasons why some people have that opinion on him. Like I say, good footballer, but I don't rate him as a human being. All this "turned over a new leaf" stuff is a bit much for me to swallow given how recently he's been in the **** with the law.

Still breaking the law scott.Stealing from women tut tut.Anyway back on topic, not sure all 3 promoted sides will stay up
keep seeing Blackpool last season looking good and then........

I think all three sides this year are stronger than Blackpool were. Blackpool had a crazy run end of the season and blagged promotion, and it would have been 99% momentum had they stayed up. Swansea & Norwich have managers who want the team playing a certain way, and up until now it's worked, whereas QPR have money to invest should it be needed...so I'd expect all 3 promoted teams to gather more points than Blackpool did last year.

Have to say our run in last 7 ain't gonna be easy so not too sure
Man utd away think that speaks for itself
Swansea home we're probably both gonna be scrapping hard for points so could go either way
WBA away see above
Tottenham home could be going for champs lge place again
Scumsea away think we may have upset them earlier in season ( but should win that one<whistle>)
Stoke home always tough to play against
Man city away nuff said

What I and most other 'neutrals' liked about Blackpool last year was their ability to play without fear, no matter who the opposition! I think all 3 of us have adopted that formula this season, if I'm honest, which I always strive to be, of the 3, the one of us I most worry about, is our niavety in defence, QPR now have money to strengthen in January, Swansea play beautiful football with a tight defence, Norwich also play beautiful football, but with occasional gaffes at the back! We have to score at least 1 goal per game, just to get a draw! Hopefully this can be addressed in January!

Oh dear Stanley - you've got your hands full there, mate.
Must gather points ASAP seeing those last 7 games.
Possibly bottom 3 almost decided before you get to last 3 games - and ManC may have the title by then.
So hang in there.

I would say TF is trying (not is turning) to achieve a global brand but IF that happens, it is going to take many, many years and a consistent run of winning trophies and or competing in the Champions League and here is why I think that.....

For the world global - use Asia. That is the market he is predominantly looking to attract supporters & investment. As I live over here I think I might be in a slightly better position to judge how much of an impact QPR will make over here and I would use clubs such as Tottenham & Man City as two examples. Despite them being consistently top 6-8 sides in recent years, their impact compared to Man Utd, Liverpool, Chelsea & Arsenal is practically nothing. When it is said that the PL is big in Asia, it is normally only with regards to those 4 clubs - and not the other 16 that take part.
Cardiff & Leicester also now have investors from this region but they are not making an impact with the locals either because the share of the media limelight is never cast their way, which why I say unless any PL team is playing Champions League year after year, the limelight will not come their way either.

I will add, the only 2 clubs outside the UK that make any real impact here are Barcelona & Real Madrid. The other most consistent sides in the CL

Agree with some of your points
What I was trying to say was since TF has come into QPR he has brought in world sponsors (Malaysia and Air Asia); we also have ‘Lotto’ and are Partners with F1’ Lotus’. He has branded the F1 car with ‘Loftus’ as in Loftus Rd and he is talking about painting a plane in the QPR hoops complete with Badge. He is forever doing interviews overseas and talking QPR. They even had an interview on CNN that I watched and talked intensively about QPR. Our Media coverage now is bigger than it’s ever been and in Asia it’s been mentioned in all media.

All of this is giving QPR worldwide publicity.

Throw in the Mittals who have big connections in India and are looking into that market.

And you have a world brand.

Agree we are nothing like the big clubs that have been doing this for years but we have the right people to do it. Being in the Premiership is only making more people around the globe know the name QPR.

Sorry but if you cannot see that then it’s your poor insight.

A bit taken aback by your last sentence Ellers, perhaps my insight is not as poor as you believe. Publicity is one thing but getting people on board because they saw a pretty passenger carrier in the local airport or sports car whizzing around a F1 circuit is completely different. Yes, the name QPR might be better known in time and while you could argue the toss "well it's worldwide brand then", it's pretty meaningless if nothing else comes from it other than the name being known more widespread.

I have no idea if what TF plans to do will work or not, and I suspect neither do you. I accept he is doing lots of nice things for QPR and certainly saying all the right things but isn't that what all new investors do during the early part of their tenure - make all the right noises? The proof of the pudding will be in the eating at a much later date. If his grand plans pay off, then great for QPR. If they do not, do not be too surprised is all I am saying.

I think TF has been pretty clear in his plans - survival this year, investment to create a sustainable premiership club - new training ground, ultimately new stadium, focus on developing players, bring in players as needed but not for stupid money. He has said several times that the club has to operate as a business and make money. The only way we can do that is by staying in the Prem. That's why he will spend more in January, but there won't be any ludicrous fees paid - £15m for 3 or 4 players absolute max. Compare to what Stoke paid for Crouch. It may be difficult for many to understand just how much R's fans like this guy and Amit Bhatia - after the owners we've had for years they are a breath of fresh air. I know nothing about the ownership of Swansea or Norwich, but if you are as happy as we are, you must be in a good place. Good luck to all, especially as we are all trying to play good passing football, for the rest of the season.

Call me a cynic but that's my view on any kind of outside investment into football!

I'll be impressed if he doesn't splash the cash. It'd be nice to see someone with money who didn't want to buy success straight away. Hopefully for you guys TF is the real deal and is around for the long run.

born near Brentford & QPR - full on fan of Rs in my youth - Morgan twins, Mark Lazarus, even further back Bedford\Leary!!

Got older, married, mortgage and kids - no spending power - had to stop going and travelling away.<wah>
Just remembered Alec Stock - what a man! Once let me on the team coach - sat next to Pete Springett - back from Walsall.
Footie became a lower priority.

Eventually got converted by Father-in-law and old-school mates to Arsenal.
Had to admit the ball on the deck was good - became a tv fan. Couldn't get to Highbury very often. Now pensioner.....
