I seem to remember you (or someone else) saying it. I said at the time that football has changed and unless clubs adapt with finances and the changing face of football they will get left behind.
For us i am happy we have billionare owners that don't waste money. Look at the sums ManCity and Chelsea spend and i am pleased we are not run like that.
Our backers are selling the QPR brand abroad and because of them people have heard of us in ASIA, (which means money).

Agree with alot of your points and its quite an admirable way to run a club but it won't work.

You mention that if Dave Whelan stops pumping in money where will they go? But where would Wigan be without him?

The whole Premiership game is about money/TV and rich people and if your club does not work that out, they will fall.
Not how i want it, but that's how it is.

I agree without Wigan having Whelan's millions over the years, they would still be languishing (probably anyway) in the lower divisions. However, if the club is never loaded with players on big salaries and the attendance remains modestly good a club can be sustainably run. I appreciate QPR aren't splashing the cash, which is admirable, but I will reserve judgement on what state it will leave your finances in when the owners leave (which they will eventually, they all do). I could well be a pessimist and a cynical bastard, but if someone buys into a club, they do it for one of two reasons. They either love the club and want the best for it, or they view it as a vehicle to make money. Any that fall into the latter category I have my worries about.

If im correct in thinking, stoke have made it where they are without mega rich money men and are run in a very similar style to us (norwich) with an owner in peter coates, a life long potters fans theyve made there money purely by building with the money that the prem generates for them and nothing else. Stoke are a club which shows how it can and should be done without risking the future of the club. Many clubs have a very very huge problem were there owner to leave. Thats why i feel very happy with the situation my club is in, relegation or not... QPR could easily be the next pompey in waiting, fernandes could easily step down if qpr were to go down and that could spell big trouble for the club if it was to happen. Im a fan though that would not wish that on any club as its just not fair for the fans of the club and i certainly wouldnt want to see that happen to my club.

As i said earlier in the thread, none of us have anything to fear in my eyes, onwards and upwards for us all!

If I could just interject at this juncture. One can indeed say 'doing good', as in 'doing good deeds'. QPR are doing good, they are carrying out good work. Neil Warnock is doing good, he is doing good for QPR fans.

Mother Teresa did good, and you'd do well to remember that.

For what it is worth, I'm with SN23 on this. However it is becoming accepted English and will probably be the norm before too long. It jars in my ears though.

I agree with RR, it will end up being accepted, and we'll have to find another expression for "do good", as in "do something that benefits somebody".

    1. As i said, i meant to write 'Doing good' and if i had a problem with it it would have been a 'quick edit', however it was meant to come out like that and i am happy with it. As for the English? After reading some posts on here i wouldn't worry about my quote.

Yes, and Delia could sell your club to China and move your ground to Ipswich?

When it happens then come back and talk about it but until then i am happy with the people in charge of my club and they have put their money where their mouth is.
They are commited to the club and they are turning us into something special. As i said i don't care what other clubs think about us and 99% of the time its jealousy.

Fernandez is 'committe' to QPR having been rejected at Norwich and Wet Sham also stating he is a life-long fan of the Hammers!

With that sort of commitment, I'm very happy to have Saint Delia as our figurehead! <ok>

delia hasnt dished out mega bucks on wages for idiots! Im sure when the blokes at pompey came in, the supporters were happy cos they shelled out the money for players hey ho looked what happend to them!. There was a reason why many fans of both us and west ham, aswell as the current bosses of the clubs wanted him to stay well clear.

Does there really need to be though? Unless you're 12 it's a bit sad.
