There is no "I" in team, but there is an "I" in pie. And there's an "I" in meat pie. Meat is the anagram of team...

I don't know how to finish that.

Alex Bruce doesn't deserve the negative comments I've seen on this thread, he's no Baresi but he was solid for us, in fact he nearly won us the Cup if it wasn't for Gibbs clearance. Some fans need to appreciate that being overly negative about players does not help, especially when they haven't done anything wrong, we are Hull City and should encourage the players we have and appreciate where we are instead of getting carried away

Nonsense comment really re. Aluko, overly negative, he's had a bad injury and not had a proper run in the team since, seen him display great technique over the years not just for us, google his goals for Aberdeen. Overly judgemental.

As with Hull City and how things usually go with us I reckon Liverpool will turn it around against us, Balotelli will get a couple, the defense will become a well oiled machine and Mignolet will stop everything that comes his way...

Yes... that's how football ability is judged... if he scores against a decent team, that must mean he's good... <doh>

I think Steve Bruce has a better idea of his abilities than people posting on this forum, he's technically good enough for the Premiership. I'm not surprised that people posting from Australia might think otherwise, bearing in mind all the games that they don't go to. If you don't think he's good enough too then that reflects on your own poor ability to assess a player

You are cherry-picking 'stats' to suit your argument so let's have his 'stats' out in the open.
Played 87 times for Aberdeen against teams that regularly shipped in over 100 goals a season and managed 7.
Played for England at U16/U17/U18/U19 11 times and scored 0.
Played for Nigeria at U20 3 times and 4 times at full international and scored 0.
Played in the English Premier League for Hull City 19 times and has scored (wait for it) 1.
Oh yes, I cannot understand why other Clubs are not beating a path to the KC Stadium to get his signature.

In a nutshell - went to the same "School for Strikers" as Jay Simpson, Jozy Altidore and "Der Donkey" Proschwitz.

Here is a 16 year old kid making his debut in the English Premier League - Aluko will never make anywhere near this standard.

I might not go to games and see these players 'live' but I can tell cow-clap from cream and I don't have to taste it!
I have never seen Ronaldo, Rooney, Messi or Van Persie 'live' but I can tell that these are very exceptional players and I can tell that Aluko isn't.
I admire you for standing up for the bloke and acknowledge your right to state your opinion but he is far from EPL quality.

if it wasn't for diame.. we'd be in the relegation zone atm.. aluko is good enough easily.. last season he was.. he got another bad injury.. let me guess brady ain't good enough either?

    i detest.. i really do

comparing aluko to rooney? what next? comparing chester to maldini? huddlestone to zidane?

If you read other peoples post properly then you will understand that I was NOT comparing Aluko to Rooney or anyone else. I was simply stating that although I do not go to games 'live' any more I can tell a good player from one not so good. Rooney stood out like dogs balls from the very off and he has proven to be a really exceptional player.
I simply stated that Aluko is nowhere near this standard.
Have a look at that goal of Rooney's again and then put Aluko or Sagbo there instead. Sagbo would have turned round, headed for the wing and then passed back to Robertson. That's the difference. Aluko, from what I have seen of him, would have tried to get closer and would have been robbed of the ball by sheer weight of numbers alone.
Ask yourself why nobody has made an approach for Aluko and Sagbo is on the bench at Wolves. They are not good enough for this level.
