I get your point, but we do listen what other people post and there are a few bands that I now listen to because of them being posted there. It's also a thread that quite a few people post on and there are regulars from other boards on there.

However the point being we are all questioning the set up of the board because of one tosser. It's good to question but that's not what he's doing, he's trying to get his own way like a spoiled child as usual.

If you create a thread and it gets merged or closed, ask the mods for clarification - it's simply too hard to set down rules for these things.

You're entitled to your opinion and me mine, there's people on here who deserve the title equally if not more than him but because you happen to like them it's 'drama' where they are concerned but expletives when it's the one person you don't happen to like.

Fair enough and yes there are all sorts on here, some I like some I don't but there are none who have the arrogance to try and tell the rest of us what to do and how to do it. I don't have a go at any of the people I don't like other than Livtor, have your opinion I thought you had more sense.

That's the point mate - I don't feel I'm being told what to do and how to do it, I'm sitting here laughing. Don't spoil it by telling me to have more sense simply because we don't agree on this - you're Mr Cool remember <ok>

LuvGonzo, your thread has been deleted it looks like! It would have been funnier if it had been move to the PL forum and merged with Sisu's Gaza thread.

Unfortunately, I can't merge things on the PL board as I lack the powers. I could move Gonzos over but that wouldn't be a good mod and would even give Livtor a reason to approach the SMs to remove me

The OT threads are what make this site what it is, there is only so much you can say about any footballing subject before a stalemate is reached between two opposing opinions and the tread descends into an insult laden slanging match.
The OT threads give an opportunity to have a wider variety of discussions with much more variety of input. Obviously as they are not the main topic i.e football, it will lead to less people using a particular thread as we all have an interest in football but only a few will have more than a passing interest in snails for example. The popular OT threads often have more replies and have more legs than the football related threads. Their is only so much that can be said about studge being injured, while the goings on in the cheese could keep Jeremy Kyle going for 10 series.
I personally liked the Gaza thread, it was interesting and could be quite thought provoking. If i wanted safe and mundane i would join facebook and read about what people had for their dinner instead.

Maybe I'm missing something obvious JB: that's Livs first post on this thread quoted above. Let's break it down:

1) tells the OP that his own thread is in fact wrong despite the thread being, well the OP'S....good start. (We'll ignore the fact that for someone supposedly so smart he missed that the OP was on a windup...Maybe he should "listen" to other posters to get a read on their very induvidal humour and style rather than call them sheep?????)

2) basically a criticism of everyone that's created a thread on here....getting into his stride eh?

3) same generalised criticism of even those responding to the 'inferior threads'....way to go Liv....that'd everyone insulted.

4) some anti English sentiment decorated in metaphysics.....nice. (despite a sizable portion of those posting not actually being English.)

5) No Wait!! He's re-evaluated his opening dismissal of us all and declares Mito to be..... adequate?

6) finishes with what I believe is the underlying basis for his post. He's still got his knickers in a twist with G for whatever he did on him...sorry I missed it so can not comment: deleted thread?

Maybe I'm too dumb to read between the lines. I've thought of him being a parody but he takes things too personally for that.


I'm not anti Liv anymore than anti anyone else...I mean I can hardly criticise him for being verbose or slightly superior in tone can I? <laugh>

But on the other hand he's quick to personalise his criticism of others posts...so people stop responding to his ideas and more to him posting at all. He needs to stop calling people and idiot because they disagree with him. I have absolutely no problem with his quirky style or ideas other than agreeing or disagreeing with specifics. Like in this thread for example.

I genuinely don't understand what he believes is missing from this forum other than again a rather personal grievance he has with one mod and a deleted thread?

Wants "better" content.....do it then. Luv may not go on his threads but others might lol.

I stand by my view that Liv undermined his own point by pre-emptively dismissing or undermining people who would vote for the status quo as being "lazy" or "old" (wasn't your name lumped in there too?). Ageism is as invalid a basis for criticising someone as where they live.

So nope. I don't "get" why Liv alienates those he's trying to converse with. If he's trying to stimulate he's gone too far and his methods have been counterproductive to his declared aims.

Personally I read for a while, got a feel for who wasn't going to bite my head off and kept my first few posts light hearted....Liv would call that act of mouse or something but then I would equate it to walking into a new pub. At the risk of sounding controversial...


... shouldn't this thread and the Vote or No Vote thread be merged? They're basically talking about the same issue.
