Ah yes, Talks Rubbish I remember. Did recognise "TR" but Talks Rubbish I recognise more without the abbreviation. Anfield RAP I do remember too now I know it's not an abbreviation! <laugh>

Yes, remember them all... all good posters!

think he is a club secretary or something like that, have to go back on there at some point and catch up, havent been on in a while.

As toward attracting newer posters, it can be very difficult. The board does have the feeling of the old boys club as there is a core of regular posters who obviously know each other well. However this is true in every endeavor, you need to make the effort to get involved and join in. On the other hand i have seen newbies post and rather than discussion have been ridiculed.

I feel going a bit easier on the newer posters would be a great help.

This may well be a valid point. All internet forums I've been on smack of thisbto an extent. TBF this one is usually very welcoming to newbies unless they've been bold enough to introduce themselves with something controversial or superior sounding but then I assume people who do that are strong enough and confident enough to take an equally strong reaction.

Personally I read for a while, got a feel for who wasn't going to bite my head off and kept my first few posts light hearted....Liv would call that act of mouse or something but then I would equate it to walking into a new pub. If you come in and stand on a chair and declare the locals simpletons, you'll get a kicking.....

I don't know how old people think I am <laugh> certainly not too old to care to bother, as you say.

With regard to true democracy and voting - what are we voting for exactly?

I told you already... what in broad terms should constitute a "sticky" "OT "merged" "closed" thread. But since there is so little traction for a democratic vote (what in louse terms classifies as mutiny), there is no point in drafting the questions to vote on.

My memory is getting a little rusty- but I do sort of recall a new poster relatively recently who posted something rather numptyish (not really offensive or inflammatory) and everyone jumped on him and accused him of being either "old poster x" or "old poster y". I do remember thinking at the time- "what if he isn't? - what if he is someone that just said something a little silly... we all do that at times.

Wish I could give some more specifics (and no not talking about that racist guy with the v something name... it was before him... less inflammatory)

I try to give people the benefit of the doubt these days.

You closed the idea of a vote in the same post that you raised the idea, as your aim was nothing to do with a vote on what should constitute a stickied thread, it was to cause discord about the mods and gain some traction for your transparent agenda.

To be fair the mods are all batards! <whistle>

It would be a pity and a cruel irony if so much spirited input led to ****all actual change. I see mito is trying to distil some actionable points, but nothing decided or even proposed yet. Any proposals, mod mito? I know that the greasy one is too pallid for change.

Just been reading back and came across this. Get it into your thick head, we don't need to change things just because you say so! The forum will morph and change over time as it always has. Nobody on here is going to bow to your nonsense, you're a complete twat but I like the fact that you're on here it gives me something to laugh at. Now go shove your head back up your ass.

Holding tight to the greasy woolies, eh?

To the non-parasitic others, for the record: I am totally open to the idea of a vote and have no other intentions but to have fairer rules in place.

Maan, you're boring.

That's perfectly fine as long as one of the options is:

Keep status quo.

Hardly a highly debatable and interactive thread, it seems more like one posters stage <ok>

PS...yep, I'm going to get it in the neck for that comment too!

The music thread has 7k posts from Dave, 2k from the next poster. So you could equally make the claim that the music thread is unnecessary, especially having it stickied when its simply a stream of youtube videos that no one actually listens to (maybe 1 or 2 people at most)

Maan, you're boring.

I love it that you either ignore or respond like this when I hit the nail on the head with you, you're a stupid person who tries to hide that fact with the dribbling nonsense that you think is clever. At the end of the day you're a dull person who is only concerned with himself.

I've bubbled you as you're nowhere near as smart as you think you are lad.

Good point.

That's exactly why you won't get what you want Liv .

You call for democracy and open air of views but then immediately declare that to suggest no change is indicative of "not caring" or age related apathy rather than an informed and valid choice. You attempt immediately to undermine "the vote" of those in opposition to your position...That's a dictatorship mate and a cowardly one at that., not in fact despite your claims, what the current mods are doing.....think you may go get a politics 101 book and read up on your definitions in their most basic forms.

There's a difference between wrong and disagreeing with you. They are not mutually inclusive.

I'll refer you back to my comment about how if your the only one holding that vaulted opinion it may well be that the rest of us aren't in fact morons you're just simply not as clever or as interesting as you believe......

And a vote on what, there has not been remotely any agreement on the options to vote for never mind who can vote? The very reason I think the status quo works so well, everyone gets what they want because they have ability to create the type of threads they want to exist.

If it's not there, it's your own fault.....good luck on your superior threads Liv.....I'll even contribute.....if they're interesting......

I'm surprised by this post Frank - I expected you to 'get' Livtor even if the rest don't. Look a little harder, the answer's there.
