It seems some people took offence to sisu's gaza thread and it has been moved. Fair enough this is the Liverpool board. So I propose the England thread, cricket thread and a few others be moved off the board aswell.

I'm neither a cricket nor an England fan and feel there is a cricket board and an England board where those threads would be at home.

For anybody about to give it the big well its an English site bollocks , the site owner is Irish and the site server is in Germany.

As for this is the Liverpool board and Liverpool is in England this is true but not every Liverpool player is English or every fan. Even Liverpools owners arent English.

Thats my view on it. If the mods would kindly move the non liverpool items to their correct boards itd be greatly appreciated.

Obviously the mafia game and some O.T. threads should be still on the board as they are inclusive.

I'll ask about sisu's thread I was not aware it was moved

No mito its done and as I said its fair enough. Gerrez moved it because people complained. Why those people clicked on it and read it only to be offended I dont know. Anyhow I feel the same rule should apply to the other threads.

I couldnt give a fiddlers **** about England , Englands golden generation (im only 35 and ive been through about 9 golden generations)cricket or formula one. If by any chance I had an interest in any of the aforementioned id visit the respective board.

Hash, no one really gives a f** about England, but a quick poll would tell you most of the Liverpool fans on the board are English (including myself). And so I guess that is why it is there. Personally I'd prefer the other sub-forums were used more but in reality any thread that gets moved there just dies quickly.

This isnt an anti english thing by me just a matter of it should be one rule for all. There is an england board for all things england. There is a cricket board for cricket.

Put it this way if a villa fan came on our board and made a thread about villa would it last long or be moved to the villa board.

Most of us are white too, don't think we'll start seeing white pride stuff being posted on here.

Promising OP title, but it misses the point by quite a bit.

There does exist smth wrong with the threads on here. The board is kicking on below potential. Pretty low quality OPs with not enough original takes or intelligent input, as if suffering from a sort of "English" wariness and cynicism, a sort of self-defeating sentiment of futility.

LFC-no606's thread to post ratio is the second highest of the not606 boards (53 per thread). I like Mito as the old sod is tolerant and promotes struggling threads that have merit, but Gerrez is a proper tw*t of a moderator.

<laugh>

You're a beauty you.

I have no problem with the existence of threads that I have no interest in - I just don't look at them.
They do clog up your first page a bit, but as I never bother coming on when I'm away from a PC that's no big problem (for me).

There were, apparently, complaints about the Gaza thread- without knowing the nature of those complaints and from whom they came, I don't feel qualified to judge whether or not the thread should have been moved.
I'm sure Gerrez moved the thread in good faith for what seemed to him to be good reason. As it's only been moved to another location it mustn't be because it is bringing unwanted attention to the forum, so I assume he did it for the sake of what passes for harmony on the Liverpool board.
I'd suggest anyone unhappy with this should take it up via pm.

Helpful as ever, Liv. <ok>

That's true with me too. Take Cricket for example... 19 times out of 20 I just ignore it... the other 1 time out of 20 I go on and ask "Is this still the same game from 20 pages ago? <whistle> Same with the Gaza thread- I was interested at first- but lost interest and stopped posting to it- or checking it. Doesn't bother me that it exists.

I see two reasons why threads like the cricket thread might wish to remain...

If this is really a problem, I'd suggest a separate Liverpool "OT" subforum. Where the OT stuff goes, but is still our "Liverpool" subgroup. There they would be less likely to die an early death.
1) As said, a lot of the sub forums are dead zones- and the people participating in them might not go there except for that one thread. And thus those threads will die.

2) Liverpool fans as a group on here know each other (online) pretty well- and might be interested in the people they know's opinion. Especially in something like cricket, where they might only have a passing interest.

Hardly a highly debatable and interactive thread, it seems more like one posters stage <ok>

PS...yep, I'm going to get it in the neck for that comment too!

Correct saint , if you dont like it dont click on it. Hence I have never read the cricket, england , formula 1 or probably 50% of threads on here.

My point in making this thread is to show how easily one persons dislike/non interest in a particular thread shouldnt mean the threads removal.

As of now the threads I mentioned are still on the Liverpool board. So it gets me wondering was the gaza thread removed because some dislikes the op (sisu)

I also wonder if the complainant was infact UIR and if it was well then the site is ****ed where a rival fan can get things moved.

As for the Cricket and England threads, fair enough with the former, I understand that but the latter is still football. Why not create a Ireland Football thread?

I agree with most, just don't click on it!

Because there is already an ireland football board. If I want to talk about a substandard bunch of clowns In green I'll go and post there. The same as guys who want to talk about an overpaid bunch of losers in white could go to the England board.

Its a well known fact that Sisu and I don't always see eye to eye but that had nothing to do with it. Quit **** stirring! <laugh>

Simply put, I got complaints (not for the first time) and I had absolutely no intention of reading any comments on that thread, let only read through all of it! I thought it was easiest all round to just move it. The could have been closed or deleted like the previous ones (hence the title) but it wasn't, the thread remains open and available for use.

PS...I never had any involvement with the previous threads before someone throws that one at me!

The other thing is... the England thread is ... yes England. But it is from a Liverpool perspective and has more focus on our players. If it were retitled "England- Liverpool fans perspective" would it be out of place? That's essentially what the thread is.

We represent a chunk of England and have more internationals in that team than any other. Injuries/successes do impact Liverpool.
