So with games finally back on since England ****ed it, talk about England, Southgate and the future are on the agenda. I think the question is... is Southgate capable of taking a team over the line to win something. Perhaps should have beaten Croatia (would probably still have lost to France imo in 2018) Should have beaten a over performing Italian team Had France on the back foot. In each case England had a very good opportunity to win but found a way to lose. I don't think Southgate has done a bad job. The fact England were even considered a proper contender instead of talented underachievers, is something. However there are plenty of good managers out there who can get good stuff out of teams but only a few who know how to take a team to actually win things. There is of course Belgium as a cautionary tale, a hugely talented squad wasted under the wrong managers.
England World Cup victories since 2006... ... we've not beaten anyone of note. No one! My take on Southgate... he is negative as **** and a fraud. Needs to go for years ago!
That's a little unfair as it ignores the Euros where we beat: Croatia, Czech Republic, Germany, Ukraine and Denmark And in the end you can only beat who you are drawn against. My thought however is that Southgate isn't a winner. That he doesn't know who to win so freezes up in the big moments.
It does say 'world cup'. However, that list you provided doesn't exactly improve the list anyway Germany aren't what they were. The team we beat weren't exactly great.
Love messi, greatest player of my generation. However I do find it hilarious that people are now using the fact that he’s won and scored more goals than Ronaldo this World Cup as proof that he’s greater than Ronaldo as absolute nonsense. Suggesting that their both nearly 20 years career can be separated by 5 games at a World Cup is a bit stupid.
Don't have any strong bias on who wins this.........head says France, but it would be a fitting end (near end) for 'the medicine man' as Ray Hudson calls him.
Don't want either team to win but would love to see Messi blubbering after losing.Nothing but an arrogant petulant twat who's always had too much influence.
