FSG have not invested enough in the squad and it is a miracle we have done as well as we have in the last few years. We don’t have the depth in the squad to challenge this year and losing to relegation fodder like Forest is an embarrassment, a major embarrassment
FSG Have already made a shed load of money off us and will easily make a packet when they sell us so they don't need to invest and won't.
Given there's a new training ground a new stand on the way up and a 5x increase in club revenue I'd say they are nothing like Mike Ashley. They are FSG. Not sugar daddies, not glaziers with hand in till, not Mike cashley Fsg = we will make a lot of money together but you are on your own over there we are watching baseball. If people want sugar daddies go support city or chelsea (seemingly still) If people want to suffer like Manchester utd fans... well there's hospitals that look after the mentally bereft.
I can't see us making top4 this season. Even if we did spend big in Jan it would take too long to gel and the others above would already have had half a season to settle plus the advantage of having points on the board. City are clearly going to win the title Arsenal could sack off the EL without their fans caring too much if they wanted, meaning an lighter post Christmas run. Newcastle, took them a couple of months to really get going with the new signing and managers tactics, but now are flying with the added advantage of no European games. That leaves Chelsea, ManU, Spurs and Us (Sorry Brighton and Fulham, can't see them staying there) all looking inconsistent, but at least they are beating the bottom teams and picking up points. No top4 sets us back alot, Bellingham wouldn't even be a rumor, it'd be a pipe dream.
And you still think Bellingham is not a deluded pipe dream even if we topped the table by 10 points? Come on lads. Sadly top 4 looks well beyond us. We are letting ourselves down now with points thst can never be made up. 7th is even unlikely. No Europe at all is perhaps the outcome.
I genuinely think we'll have to be happy with top half. In fact, I predict in January we'll only be four or five points away from the relegation zone. To address the midfield crisis, FSG will loan another Melo who's hardly kicked a ball in years and a 35-year-old midfielder from the Championship who'd be out-of-contract next summer anyway. Jurgen will say he's happy with the squad. Some newspapers will link us with Bellingham, Rice and Son. Those papers that are partial to the odd bung from FSG, that is. Many of our fans will believe them and accuse those that don't of not being true fans. And when we don't get any of those players, those fans will agree with Jurgen that we have all the squad that we need and that the fans who disagree are not loyal enough. Rinse and repeat.
Don't want to scapegoat anyone in particular, but **** me, Virgil has gone downhill quickly. I was pleased that having been out for a year he hadn't lost his straight-line speed, but Christ he's lost any zip. That Sancho goal back in August and Leeds' winner last night - it's as if he doesn't want to get his kit dirty. What was a languid, calm demeanour now looks cumbersome and Maguire-like. It's as if he's been told not to stretch himself too much, too often. So that spine of the 2020 team, the four that made us special - only Ally is anywhere near that level now. Virgil doesn't even seem to win as many defensive headers anymore, let alone his demise on the ground: Fab is a shadow of what he has 2-3 years ago. He did a brilliant, crunching, no-holds-barred tackle in the first half last night, just like the Fab of old. Then he disappeared. And as for Mo - well maybe he thinks he's carrying the attack now, especially since Diaz got injured. But if he is the experienced leader now we could do with him recognising he's not playing with Mane anymore, so running right across the box and shanking a curler at the corner flag when players are standing in great, open positions waiting for a pass is an indulgence we can't put with. You're paid enough money not to act like a self-indulgent showboat pony now, Mo.
I've said it before. Vvd is done. He doesn't want to know before the world cup. He might come back with better attitude but imo he's running away from easy defensive duties not towards them. Gomez is a joke. He literally cannot see the simplest one two around him. He's running anywhere he feels like, not putting himself through the ball and every pass is too a person with a man on his back. He's a total liability. Fabinho is done. Again world cup on mind but he is just unable to get about and won't tackle. Trent looks like he's decided he can't afford another know and put zero tackles in again is he world cup bothered or just not arsed. Elliott is a trier and God loves a trier but I don't. He's an accident waiting to happen when running about aimlessly. He should be never seen in the middle cos he's as likely lose it as anything and frankly rw suits him for his age and lack of awareness. He improved just playing there but now klopps got another bee in his bonnet about lw so he's ****ing this side up and all. Thago can't run either. It's awful watching him flounder about. Imo the first thing to be done is get konate back in the side. The second is to fight for every ball. As I said if I saw anyone pull out of a challenge there's be a 17 year old up off bench warming up and on. If klopps got that much of a cob on about lw postion then stick tsimikas there. He's got a hard on for playing firmino who did shag all
Top four will be an achievement if we do make it, but lads, this season really is done in the Prem. Look at the Arsenal/Forest score at the moment, where we ****ed it a right royal one last weekend. Regarding the cups, it doesn't look hopeful we'll retain the FA/Carabao, but you never know, and as for the CL, forget it. It was great while it lasted, but IMO it's over this season. Question is, what happens next season??
Don't worry about next season. The cups have not even started yet. How can we have zero chance? Same for cl? There's 4 months before the next game that matters.
Four games (two PL and two dead rubber CL/Cup games) to get through and then there's a long break to figure something out, maybe get some injured players back
And one is spurs. So we couldn't beat forest or Leeds (who are two absolute no hopers) so we are bound to turn up v Spurs and then lose to Southampton.
