Hi bors, too hard for u, George Ephgrave was the goalie. Eph pronounced "f" burial is grave.
GE bor, you didn't define which war. Not the Korean War, that is still ongoing. Just a ceasefire,

Gandy bor, have another goalie, he played for me in Burton, later managed the Bloaters, didn't make the first team. If you could not get Ephgrave you wouldn't get Paul Tong.

Can give you two more goalies, easier than Paul Tong, you interested. Both made the first team.

OK Dave bor, I'll give the easy clue. This university player featured in shoes.
He coached a Derby school team.

This is a bit harder. This keeper occupied the lower bunk aboard ship.

Dave correct. Nether OE for lower, ie Netherlands; admiral's cot on board ship.
Bet you made a calculated guess LOL.

The clue for the first goalie is "university." Too tough ? Think of a university and shoes.

This one you should get. Present day player.

His ancestors were kings.

So bors, you have never heard of Oxford University, Oxford shoes and Ken Oxford.

Heard about the first two but not the third, my first memory of our keeper was Nethercott, I tried a google search of Oxford but to no avail I'm afraid, Now that I google his full name I find he must have slipped behind Nethercott as he was with us until 1958!

Hi Dave, I met Ken Oxford when he coached Sherwin school in Derby.

Can you guess the current player from the clues provided. Should get him.
His ancestors were kings.

Hi bors, you have to choose from our selected team, further clue, England was comprised of several kingdoms before King Alfred. No he is not English but the principle of several kingdoms also applies to this country.
