Thoughts on this season?

OK, it was wrong to use the race analogy.

In a race you might have 1,1, 3 [leaving out 2nd spot]. In equal place finishes it has always been that the next number or place is relegated.

But in the case of a lack of play-off game you can't have equal 3rd place, ie 1,2,3,3. I'm pretty sure that's not the case. Maybe you could look it up.?

The funniest part of this, is I think you misinterpreted the original post anyway. I am sure he referred to the round we'd get to, not where we'd finish.

Here's the Daily Mail's thoughts on Saints season ahead. They seem to think we are not looking at any particular positions for any incoming transfers but that we want 2 more. Do they really think we are that random in our transfers? I guess that just means they haven't got a clue what Saints are up to!

 

Tbf...Ron said something about position doesn't matter. I think we may have our eye on certain players and if it becomes possibly to sign them we will....implies that money isn't the deciding issue. Kreuger said recently that it doesn't matter if the Europa doesn't earn us money...it isn't why we play football. Implies the same....within reason, our decisions aren't based on money.

 

Just read the Mail article in full...can't argue with it in general. Whoever wrote this has correctly gauged the feel of the club. I wonder about what they say about Targett...being talented, but not as much as Shaw. I will always wonder what Shaw could have been if he had stayed here another season or two....he was sold when he was still half-baked and very immature. He was nurtured here and wasn't ready to be set loose as he was at Old Trafford. He seems to have recognised this and has been putting in extra effort, so I will be very surprised if he doesn't progress well in the future. But then so will Targett.

 

I hope position does matter because if we sign a striker instead of defender I will be worried! Don't mind both but definitely need a defender.
