Difficult not to analyse in isolation when you lose 3-0 to a team playing 38 year old Young on one side and Coleman on the other. They looked organised, we looked typically toothless. The 1-2 with Almiron is beyond a joke now, yet we're still trying it. We have no players and Hall can't get on the pitch. Why's he there? Worst of all the £30m we've spent on him comes out of next years budget!!! It's bipolar at the club at the moment, but that's annoying because we need consistency and balance. Through a combination of no subs, no rotation and a poor transfer "strategy" we have a fluctuating season that is now on the brink of serious collapse. My personal frustration is this could have all been avoided - there are comments from us rabble on here about the transfers, about the subs, about the tactics. Turns out we were, at times, right.
I absolutely agree and all this nonsense about 'luck' wasn't afforded to other managers including Bobby Robson might I add. The new owners have provided Howe who's initially done a brilliant job with around 500 million on the 1st team squad, yet the fans make out like he's turned water into wine.... he simply hasn't because right now we're 7th and we were finishing 13th before half a billion in investment on playing staff and god knows what else. I'm sorry, but blaming 'luck' when you've had half a billion is not going to wash when the managers job is to manage the squad and get results. I can't just roll into work saying sorry my case management isn't very good I've had alot of bad luck this week. Think it’s too early to say on Hall. I’m with Hamish in that he’s not done anything really promising yet but he’s still very young and who knows. I would say his transfer did make more sense than Tino’s as we aren’t strong at LB and had bought Ashby for RB but Tino is an excellent purchase and quite a few were questioning that one but have been proven wrong. Also we can pull out of Hall’s (I think) and not buy him and have not wasted any money. I can’t follow the logic for Harvey Barnes unless the plan was to play him and/or Gordon on the right. But I go back to the tiredness/lack of rotation/mismanagement claims and again ask who would you say this season is injured because of one or more of those points. I’ll give you Murphy as a starter.

I'm really not mate. I'm able to see it for what it is. Everton won a game they deserved to win, with a blood and thunder display under the lights at home, in cold, wintry, greasy conditions. I don't think they've been given the credit they're due. We have an injury list as long as I've ever seen. Some are blaming Howe, saying it's mismanagement, which I find ridiculous as I've tried to highlight in earlier posts. I'm yet to see anything backing up the mismanagement suggestions other than "he only knows one way to play" which I'd counter with he's changed his style completely since taking over us. I can't understand why 3 days ago you were giving it "we're 3 or 4 signings off winning everything. Almiron and Lascelles are as good as any other players in the league" to one defeat later saying "we're 10 years away from winning the league cup if we're lucky" other than assuming its an emotive response which you'll get over after a couple of days. Again my opinion is there is better out there than Almiron and Lascelles. FWIW I think we'll be in for a tough ride on Sunday but then I reckon we will ****ing destroy Fulham at home the following weekend. It's all about opinions. 3 or 4 quality players mate 1st teamers yes.... the number of players injured and the very obvious fatigue in games is the question I'm looking at. I've today having previously disagreed on the summers recruitment agreed with Roland because it simply hasn't worked out ... it might in the future.....
