Turned sour? It's hardly the days of Emmanuel Riviere, Siem De Jong and Yanga-Mbiwa.

Livramento is outstandingly, Tonali looked good until he was suspended and Barnes is great. Only question mark is over Hall, and he can still come good.

What's that got to do with what I said ? It's clear I'm comparing the new ownerships recruitment from early days to the summer.

I think Roland is right and tbh I argued otherwise at the time but really it's been crap.

Why is it when someone points out anything they can't argue against they revert to saying something about Mike ashleys reign... it ended.

Agreed think the issue has been we need quality but due to the champions league we also needed quantity. Having said that Hall for 30 million is a weird one .

It's got everything to do with what you've said.

The recruitment in the summer was still decent, saying it's turned sour is massively overreacting. The players I cited were to illustrate what bad recruitment actually looks like.

No it doesn't because not at any point was recruitment from Ashley's reign mentioned... that correct isn't it? Feel free to show me otherwise.

The recruitment hasn't been good last summer but was excellent early on .. Trippier Guimareas isak botman have proven to be be top signings.

Tonali has been a disaster, Hall isn't used , Barnes won't be ahead of Gordon so it's made no difference whatsoever because we could have just kept max and bought a cb.

Livramento is the only one that's worked out and that's only because the manager rates Dan burn higher because be picked him no doubt...if he wasn't injured Livramento would be benched.

I think it's OK to say it's not gone well in the summer compared to previous windows.

Tbf they obviously didn't know what would happen to Tonali, so as a player he was a good buy, and will be like a new signing next season.

Barnes is great and will get plenty of game time, it isn't either him or Gordon, and even if they are rotated, it will allow Gordon rest and give the option of Barnes as an impact player.

Livramento is a star, as for Hall, he hasn't shone yet, but still too early to write him off.

It's not so much the quality of the players (which is fine), more the lack of another CB and a striker, which needs to be priority in Jan, along with a keeper of course.

It doesn't matter why things haven't worked out they still haven't unfortunately.

They might work out in the long run

More **** luck that anything else tbh though, in that we only have one of our summer signings in the team now.

Tonali, Barnes and Livramento are fine, but I really don't know why we blew £30m+ on Hall rather than a decent CB.

It's ok I'm happy for you for simply put things down to luck and yes luck plays a part, but I don't think everything can just be put down to it.

Luck and faith are equally worthless when looking for explanations and reasons.

It's all just our views mate you're entitled to yours.

I'm not sure what else we can put the Tonali situation down to tbh. Milan probably knew this would happen, but we had no way of finding out.

Barnes is some weird "freak injury" to his toe, so **** luck as well, rather than the usual "picked up a knock" crap.

Firstly, can you indicate which players are or have been injured this season due to lack of rotation or mismanagement. I can think of one or possibly two.

In relation to Villa it’s in part about starting points. Villa have been spending more in previous years and had a better squad, in general, than Howe did when Howe started. With that in mind we need to spend more to catch up first before we then pass their general squad level.

Howe has obviously made mistakes and I’m sure he accepts that but he can only play who he has and is given. As I understand it he may have an input on player purchases but he doesn’t have the final say. As you say we don’t really know exactly what does happen.

For me it’s a question of looking at the full picture and not over analysing each micro part. We will have bumps in the road and we all have accepted that that will be the case but when we hit one for some there seems to be an over the top knee jerk reaction. Yes it was a poor end result last night but at this level it’s all about fine margins. Gordon or Isak score or Tripps doesn’t do a Bramble and we could easily have won or drawn that game. As it happens Gordon and Isak don’t and Tripps does so we lose.

Ultimately, it’s only 2 years in on a long journey and we are heading in the right direction. Just enjoy the journey.

If they bought other players that wouldn't have been luck.

We've lost 5 and some people are unable to accept reality. I will end up right come May and I will press forward.

The more I'm antagonised and the more I'm challenged the more I will return fire.

Everton is gone and unfortunately Newcastle got beaten mate. I predict a rough period over the coming weeks and months.

You're going to have to appreciate that there will be down moments for periods of time.
