The government's sensible plan to replace the ECHR with a British Bill of Rights will be in the Tories manifesto for 2020. The outcome of the election would give an indication of the public's view on this matter. The UK should be sovereign not some obscure European court.

Marriage itself is discriminatory. If gay people want to get married then why not, but I am against the whole institution of marriage - if people want to do it then fine, but it should not be accompanied by any legal or tax advantage whatsoever. Marriage is something which people do when they realize that love alone is not enough (so they throw the state between them) - love grows, reaches a zenith and then dies like all other living things - only a plastic rose never dies. That's what marriage is - love gone plastic. The whole institution of marriage arose out of economics - protecting inheritance, preserving class systems etc. time to ditch the whole thing. In Germany if you are not married to someone (or, are a direct relation) then you will not even have access to their death bed in hospital - sick, or what ?

If I forget an anniversary (to date, I haven't :emoticon-0107-sweat), how wise would it be for me to use the above? :bandit:

At least my wife could visit me having put me in my death bed. ;)
