Sunday 9th May is Europe Day. My thoughts suggest that the following is good and should not be destroyed. So many rely on each other. You cannot have freedom without compromise and collaboration, or human dignity without respect.

Never could understand their popularity - and couldn't even name one of their songs. Am more into AC/DC myself...

Sounds like a cross between the Eagles and Don Williams.

That's a good thing though - a search through my music library would reveal that I like both of those...

    Well said Ben Read. <applause>

Look at it another way -
“If, simply by sitting 20mins longer on a train every day, I could magically create:
    693 local wildlife sites
    108 Ancient Woodlands
    33 legally protected SSSIs
    18 Wildlife Trust Nature Reserves
    5 Internationally protected Wildlife sites
2 RAMSAR sites - wetlands of international importance
4 taxpayer-funded Nature improvement sites (THAT was money well spent! ???)
22 Living landscapes - (wildlife corridors essential to the survival of locally endangered species)
Restore about 50 SQUARE KILOMETERS of land to nature and save over £100 BILLION of tax payers' money....
I would be DELIGHTED to take a little longer for my journey!
Someone please remind me therefore..... why is HS2 still a good idea?”

"If you collect 100 black ants and 100 fire ants and put them in a glass jar, nothing will happen.
But if you take the jar, shake it violently and leave it on the table, the ants will start killing eachother.
Red believes that black is the enemy, while black believes that red is the enemy, when the real enemy is the person who shook the jar.
The same is true in society.
    Men vs Women
    Black vs White
    Faith vs Science
    Young vs Old
    Etc ...
Before we fight each other, we must ask ourselves:
    Who shook the jar?
