I read about the killing of an 13 years old lion in Zimbabwe and a world wide reaction, lions lfe average is 14 years. What about the 20 soldiers in the US who are killing themselves every day because they are so unbalanced by their military adventure, and probably a propotioned figure for other countries also.

I agree - and also quite striking that millions seem to be in mourning for the lion at the same time as people being fished out of the oceans or risking their lives to lie under trains or planes to find a better way of life are labelled as scum. That's not to say i agree with killing the lion though!

Or the 30,000 who die every day from a hunger which could have been avoided but wasn't - however, Cecil had a name, which humanized him.

Here is a thought for today..... Man's ( sic) inhumanity to man?

This is a great film we saw last night about a black and white photographers career... including years photographing famine, drought, war and genocide in Africa. Sobering..... and also ... final .... with hope.
