He is all about the money and nothing more - don't be surprised to see some of our cash reserves vanishing and appearing as income at some of his other clubs. The cash pile we have is insane, and it sure as hell wont be spent on players, at least not for us.
Self sufficient to the point of going backwards is not what I want. Nobody is asking for mega bucks investment, but spend some fcuking money for flip's sake.
Stan Kroenke is the same as Park Chu Young. Neither have ever been seen, both exist only in folklore.
There's a lot of people filling in the blanks about what they think Kronke is doing and what his motives are. But the truth is that he's not taking money out of the club and he's not currently investing his own money into it. He, Gazidis and Wenger are overseeing a prudent self sustaining approach, which in the current global economic climate, is a pretty sensible one. Is it winning us trophies though? not at the moment. Do we need some investment in the squad? yes definitely. Is the self sustaining model adequate to provide us with the funds to do so? Probably not as much as we'd like it to. So do we need extra investment from a shareholder ? I'd say yes. I'd like to see Kronke come and spell out his long term intentions for the club, specifically how he sees squad investment being realised in the short term, because we need to keep our best players and attract equally as good ones if we're going to challange City and Utd for the title.
Haha, get over it numpty. Regardless, we haven't had enough time under Kroenke to know what he is about. So as for defending him to the hilt, I don't know what you're talking about. Me thinks you're ASSuming again mate.
As an outsider, running your club as a business will do little for future success. The goalposts have changed in the last decade and the day of the generous dictator is upon us. Chelsea and Man City amazing rise to the top table is through one thing only, money. Other teams will float by and be as in a film, supporting cast actors to the mega money tyrants of the football cosmos. They will easily buy their way round the fair play rules. Our billionaire owners seem to be of the ***in school. Your syrup man leaves you cold as he offers so little . Not competing for top players (as Spurs) means at best your be treading water for years. At least our baby face Joe Lewis is keeping our best players for now. Chin up Sid
Real Madrid, Barcelona, Man. United, Bayern, Olympique Lyonnais have all done pretty well over the last few years don't you think? Check Lyon's ownership/financial history especially. The owner there was in no rush to outspend everyone when he took over but his sound management saw Lyon steadily build up to completely dominate the league in the beginning of the 21st century. We are not too far from being a big player in the transfer market, but I don't think Wenger has made the case that it is really required at this point.
Jeez A Gazidis disciple. See how many times you can get "self sustaining" and "model" in the same post . Someone has yet to explain clearly how having £200m in the bank has anything to do with a self sustaining model. Lets call it what it is - a profit making enterprise. Are you suggesting that without this stupid approach of letting our team degrade whilst our cash builds up to nearly 10 times what Utd have in the bank we're going out of business? You bought the sea front property in Birmingham mate
Real Madrid and Barcelona are not run as businesses , they are a passion , both run by their members , one supported by the state as a national institution. The other as a spearhead for the Catalonian people. Our clubs are pragmatic (if bland ) and can not compare or compete , with the advantages these have over others.
Point is they invest the money they earn, and they delegate decision making to the professionals, they don't have the 'generous dictator' you mention.
Yes I understand your point. In these cases the " generous Dictator " is the state or regional government who,s role is to help . Football and politics are one, a part of their culture. Can Arsenal ever compete with Man City ? Not on your nelly
