Our current predicament does feel quite similar (probably a bit worse tbh, especially due to fan expectation and the financial stress the club causes fans now) to the period right before Poch was appointed. Down on players, used to seeing a mess on the pitch and not knowing where the club is heading, with just a handful of players seemingly worth keeping around.

If Slot (or whoever) can have a similar impact to Poch, show that ruthless side with departures and build a team in their image then good times might return in a year or two, it's hard to be optimistic at the moment but all I can do is cling to small bits of hope.

If ten players get booted out this summer it'll still feel like too few though, so much work needs doing, the new manager/ DoF have a very unenviable task and that's before knowing if our star player will be around or not.

It’ll take at least a season and 2/3 transfer windows. With the contract situations and the financial situations of non-PL clubs.

I am intrigued to see just how ruthless and ambitious the club are going to be this summer window. I agree 2/3 windows (at least) is needed to sort the whole mess as well begin progression but this first summer window under the new manager (and DoF?) is going to set the tone.

Levy's yet again talked the talk in the Chairman's message with "We shall spend the period ahead of next season working relentlessly to position our Club for on-pitch success and football you will love to come and watch. Every element of the Club’s operations is geared toward delivering that."

So I want to see just how relentlessly they're going to work, how they're going to give us football we'll love to watch and what the actual operations are in looking to deliver as such. Because if he says all that and we end up with another Nuno-esque summer after he'd literally spoken about losing values then it's all just bollocks... again.

He's never been under as much scrutiny as he is at present, there's been ENIC Out camps for years but never to the point where I'd say ENIC Out might just be in a majority now.

The obvious task for our DoF is getting players out the door early, with that list topped by Sanchez, Rodon and Winks as none will have the usual issue of quibbling over wages and they can probably/hopefully be moved on for straight cash - which would be an issue with Ndombele and Perisic, given they're both on six-figure salaries so there is quibbling potential there

Perisic will likely accept to leave on a free and take a reduced wage at this stage of his career, especially if he can secure a return to Inter, alternatively we keep him as a winger for next season. Napoli will probably try and buy Ndombele, just at a reduced price, I actually doubt he'd quibble too much over wages too, worst case we subsidise some of them.

Getting someone to pay money for Sanchez though will be a masterstroke by our new DoF. I'd wanna be paid to take him. If they then manage to shift Richarlison, they'll deserve an immediate knighthood.

Slot has Rafa VDV's stamp of approval, which is good enough for me.

Also let's not forget the writing was very much on the wall well before Palace appointed FDB. His final two seasons at Ajax were atrocious once PSV got their act together and decided to actually challenge for the title. Then his short-lived spell at Inter was a disaster. So Palace appointed him after 3 consecutive seasons of really disappointing results.

Napoli reportedly don't want Ndombele, which is obvious by the fact he's not even starting games when they're giving squad players starts after they wrapped up the league title - and in some cases, isn't even getting subbed on

Sanchez could be relatively easy given he's in the last year of his contract, so if there's an offer we may as well take it - but the question is where that offer might come from, as he lacks the first touch to play in the Bundesliga while La Liga is hardly an enticing prospect right now. Best hope that Everton stay up, eh?

Richarlison always looks to me like a player who could be improved massively by coaching. He has a decent skill set but you can almost rely on him doing the wrong thing in any given situation because he seems to have zero awareness of what else is happening on the pitch.
He will be very hard to shift because his wages by themselves are more than he is worth. I think I would keep him and try to improve him.

They supposedly don't want to activate the buy clause, which is hardly a surprise, no one would. But I can see them making an offer to keep him around the squad.

As for Sanchez, it would actually rely on someone making an offer. Who wants a defender that can't defend? Mind you, you could be right, that's sort of Everton's criteria for a defender.

ENIC out have even got their own colours purple and Gold

    the slogan is

‘purple n gold till Spurs are sold’

They are getting media involved too

It’s on a different level now and will only get more hostile as time passes.

If he were in his teens or early 20s I'd be inclined to agree with you, the fact he's 26 leads me to believe he won't really improve much beyond his current level. The fact he's never once been considered an upper tier player or potentially an upper tier player too just gives me no faith we'll get anywhere near a return on our money and unlike the signings of Ndombele and Lo Celso, it felt like we all knew that was going to be the case before a ball was kicked.

If you replaced Richarlison's name for Gil's though, that's someone who I think with the right coaching can become a serious, serious player. Likewise Kulusevski, who I think despite a below par season, can become an elite player.

I don't think he will ever be an elite player but we might just make him into a faster Llorente.
Agree on Gil and Kulusevski. Have to hope that a few of Paratici's 'club signings' come good too.

I don't even have that much optimism for him to be honest. I wanted to try and get behind the deal once it was done but after a few months he just reminded me why I was so against his signing, especially for the money, you'd have thought we'd have learned about wasting money after the Ndombele and Lo Celso fiascos. I'd love for you to be right though, another Llorente albeit an expensive one, would be great to call upon.

I know that it has been reported the if Slot comes his assistant won't be joining him and I hope that doesn't mean that Mason will be his number 2. I think that if Ryan is going to be a manager he needs to go somewhere in the lower leagues now and be his own man.

With the rumours of Russell Martin leaving Swansea for Southampton in the summer, I think that would be a good place for Ryan to be given a chance though I think that this current spell at Spurs won't be doing him any favours.

It was just one of his assistants, TCM.

John de Wolf has said Feyenoord is his club but all other reports reckon Marino Pusic would follow Slot. Some reports also claimed Sipke Hulshoff would follow too, Wiki has him down as Jong Feyenoord’s coach/ manager, so that could be an interesting appointment if he joined as to whether he’d become U23s manager to work on promoting players to Slot’s first team or if he’d just go straight into the first team setup.

Agree on Mason, I think he’ll look to move on this summer to begin his proper managerial career but might have to look lower down than Swansea.

Didn't they learn from Man Utd fans a few years ago? Use the club's original colours...and have people mistake them for Everton fans

1908 are running articles suggesting who might be on the shortlist to take the Feyenoord job

    That's 1908, not 1899...

Dutch press are confirming Slot has asked to leave Feyenoord.

Apparently we’re €5m apart in agreeing compensation for him.
