Don’t go planting silly ideas in Levi’s head. He may act on it[/QUOTE] Considering how Chelsea's shortlist looks uncannily similar to ours, as both featured Poch, Luis Enrique and Ruben Amorim before the Nagelsmann-shaped pebble was chucked into the water, Levy probably should consider it to see if Chelsea suddenly make him an offer
Just have a feeling than when we lose to Brighton on Saturday and slip 6 points behind Newcastle & Man U Levy will panic and appoint Rogers early next week.
I've added Arne Slot to the poll, gained serious heat over the last 4-5 days to the point where I'd say he's probably 3rd favourite to take over of the current options being linked.
Feyenoord lost last night's semi-final 2-1 to Ajax. The game also had to be stopped for a while after Davy Klaasen was hit by a lighter. The former Evertonian scored the winning goal and someone in the crowd objected, apparently.
You’d hope it’s more of Levy stepping away from the football side. But we’ll see if that’s actually the case. If this chap can define a vision for what the club should be and execute it then that’s the least we can ask for.
From reading around a little it seems like this is going to be a more structural appointment than a DoF kind of role. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing - we need someone who can help build up structures that enable pathways to the first team (affiliate clubs in a network for example, which is obviously City Group’s model), and this can also help funnel talent to the academy too. We do obviously also need someone who can do the Paratici role (assuming we still intend to use the DoF-Coach model) underneath the new exec.
TBH, even if the main part of his day job is lining up loans for our academy players, that would be more than enough to justify his wages given our youngsters will at best be built up to join the first team, at worst have their value increased so we can at least profit on the Alex Pritchards or Connor Ogilvies of the world who have a Championship-level ceiling
Interesting... Coincidentally, here's a photo of Paratici's first day reporting to Munn please log in to view this image
