It's also baffling how their recruitment has (rightly) been used as a stick to beat our recruitment over the head with, especially as Tielemans, Castagne, Pereira and Soumare were all heavily linked with us before heading to Leicester instead...except this season where they're a tribute act for our 2019 summer signings
They've got a hell of a lot, though. Bertrand, Evans, Mendy, Amartey, Tielemans, Soyuncu and Tete are out this summer. I think they've got a buy option or forced clause on the Brazilian, though. The following season isn't any better. Smithies, Vestergaard, Praet, Vardy, Ndidi, Maddison, Iheanacho and Thomas are all up. That would leave them with 2 keepers and 10 outfield players. Lots of business to get done.
I genuinely will not go to watch us if we make Brenda our manager. A horribly arrogant cock of a man with no redeeming features. Would rather Pochetinno to return and think Pochetinno would be a car crash of a decision
1. Hasn't Bambi for years on the PL board going blah blah blah upcoming youth blah blah blah ?? Lesta had their moment with the "black swan" of 2015-16., 2. Brenton had his with the Poool in 2013-14 and twi opportunities during the Wuhan flu chaos to get a CL slot for Lesta (notably the second time they blew it big-time against Spurs on the final game of the season) . He is provably not of the pedigree or steel required to make a club at the minimum a CL incumbent.
No idea, I don’t read the PL board. Brendan is mid and I don’t like his personality though. Widnae in my books.
Chelsea trashed Potter's growing reputation in almost record time Yet somehow we're supposed to be the managerial Jonestown...
Romano claims Nagelsmann is favourite for the Chelsea job and says approaches have already been made.
Di Marzio claims that Nagelsmann is keeping his options open for the summer, which may as well be code for "Is practising his Spanish in case he happens to be in Madrid this summer" INSIDER FIGHT!!!
Manager merry-go-round this summer will be a bit mental you’d think. Especially if the Real Madrid job comes up as many are expecting. That Poch is unlikely to take Chelsea or Enrique to take Madrid perhaps simplifies it a bit. Of the ‘big’ names those are the 3 mentioned I’d be most interested in for Spurs, though there are other names (Arne Slot, Kompany, Glasner) who are all perhaps more outside bets but all interesting in their own ways. Whatever we do, I hope we do it in good time.
I expect Nagelsmann to take the Chelsea job which is a shame but essentially the same thing happened when we belatedly picked up the phone to him last time: Bayern had already expressed interest and theirs was by far the bigger project. I'd say I'm leaning towards Glasner or De Zerbi (IF he leads them to Europe and the FA Cup) as second choice, in that order. I've come to the conclusion, and don't for the life of me ask why, we need a manager who has tasted winning a trophy and a difficult one at that, but not the Conte or Mourinho types who've won loads of trophies. We need someone who has fought tooth and nail for success and actually achieved it. So that formula rules out Poch (among many other reasons), Frank, Enrique (among other reasons), Kompany, the Celtic bloke and Amorim (although I'm personally sick of counter attacking football). Although worryingly it doesn't rule out Brendan Rodgers so I may have to include "isn't a bellend" under the main criteria.
I’d like to see Valverde and the Atalanta manager, Gasperini(sp) handed a crack at the premier league. Both of these would be very interesting, especially, Gasperini.
