Lol, yep. Ledley also confirmed it a few years back when I done a specialised stadium tour with him so it definitely wasn't paper/ media bullshit. He said the only person in that squad at the time who wasn't put on any strict regime or dietary requirements was Jenas, who was apparently in perfect condition. Not actually surprising too when thinking about it, the amount of running that guy done in the League Cup final and even the semi final was crazy.
What would Conte have made of Maradona or Gazza " Diego just the one line of coke a day and Gazza keep it down to a couple of pies a week "
Jenas roasted Ramos about it in an interview a few years back. He also revealed what Ramos' fitness regime was on a preseason trip to Spain 6am - 9km run around the golf course Afternoon - gym or a run on the beach 7pm - actually practise with some footballs 9pm - off to bed, you have to be up at 6am for a 9km jog That was every day for two weeks, and if you opted out you were out the team
Rumours of trying to get Bale back on loan. Delighted if true, Bale playing for someone like Conte AND playing in front of Spurs fans would , I think see us get much more out of Bale than last time.
According to the Metro :- It’s claimed that Levy is keen on the idea of bringing Hazard to Tottenham, however, Conte is not supportive of the move as he was unhappy with the 30-year-old’s effort levels during their time together at Chelsea. Instead, Conte has suggested to Levy that he makes a push to bring Gareth Bale back to Spurs.
You can understand why Levy might approach Conte about signing Hazard, though. Scored 16 goals in 35 games when they won the title in 16/17, then got 17 in all competitions in 17/18. Real would probably pay most of his wages too, a la Bale last season. I think he's overdone the Belgian chocolate and can't be arsed anymore, but the logic's there.
You mean he hasn't handed everything over to Paratici...? I'm shocked I tell you..... deeply shocked.
Great player to have back, but Hazard is 61 now and though willing may not survive Conte's fitness regime.
