Exactly, or like wanting a pair of Adidas trainers for Christmas, opening the box and finding that they have four stripes
Don't get your Hope's up and never let Levy do the Christmas shopping

" One of Conte’s fitness coaches, Gian Piero Ventrone, is notorious in Italian football circles and was nicknamed ‘the Marine’ by Juve’s squad, which included Conte, in the ‘90s. Gianluca Vialli once became so enraged with Ventrone, he once locked him in a cupboard and called the police. "

Cant wait to see The Marine do his thing with this set of dossers

The player's lack of fitness is synonymous with the way that the football club has been run...second rate, directionless, flabby and without intent.

It's to be hoped that some lessons have been learned. The stadium isn't an end in itself and rather than making things easier, it raises expectations and demands in all directions. I don't think that's been apparent, mainly due to Covid and the regular replacement of coaches...but it will be now.

Either the club commit to creating success on the pitch or there will be trouble ahead. Let's stop pissing about and get at it!

I remember Harry Kane looking less than buff towards the end of last season

    Definitely.

Him, Bergwijn, Dier and Dele are all noticeably bigger, Dier especially has been for some time.

Also sounds like those who have gone on international duty have been given extra training schedules by Conte to improve their fitness.

They’ve had no direction since Poch left…like Bri says, it’s reflective of how the club has been run from the top.

**** knows the purpose of our fitness coaches because I don’t buy the stuff that training wasn’t taken seriously by any of our managers, maybe not as intense as Poch’s days but no way has it been non existent at an elite football club.

The players lack discipline and focus, eye off the ball…just like Levy the last 5 years…it’s a shame because we didn’t amass the booty during our PL Golden period out of the top 6

Levy owes the fans big time

It's worth asking what the Lille coaching staff we brought in actually did, because I've yet to hear a single positive thing said about them, and I've certainly heard less than flattering things about Joao Sacramento being somehow less approachable than the rampaging narcissist who was our manager

In terms of Nuno, I do remember articles back when he joined that he wanted his fitness team of Antonio Dias and Joao Lapa to follow him from Wolves, but while Dias followed him Wolves were adamant that Lapa wasn't going anywhere, which pretty much says that Lapa is the drill sergeant of the two which is why Nuno wanted him so badly

I find it remarkable that any manager at any elite level football team would need to do this. FFS I barely eat any of that stuff and as my wife tells me, I could still do with "flattening some curves" <laugh>

Yeah surely it’s more of a power play and showing ‘I’m the boss’ than actually worrying about their diet
