Yeah I don't think anyone can ever dispute his commitment to Tottenham, it's just his decision making especially in recent years, has been too problematic. Hopefully Paratici gets us back on the mend though, no pressure, lol.
Indeed, which is why non compete clauses exist, to make sure that the knowledge is at least a bit dated before it can be used.
If as RCL said his head has gone and he wants to leave, sell. We've developed a bad habit in recent years (since Walker was sold tbh) of hanging on to players for far too long instead of selling them at a smart time. While I accept that Kane is an exception to this because of his background and ability, the last few games of the season gave us a glimpse into 'distracted' Harry and it wasn't pretty. If he can be convinced to stay and will get his head down again, keep. I'm not as despairing of the squad as other posters on here and have also fully accepted that selling more than 5-6 senior players in a post Covid window will be a minor miracle. That's less than half the list of players many posters want gone, which means a chunk of the duds will still be here come August, whether we like it or not. A decent coach and motivator will make the world of difference. We definitely haven't seen the best of Reguilon, Hojbjerg, Bergwijn or Rodon. Then Skipp and Sess coming in and properly coached could be two more massive additions to the side. Our attack (with Kane) is absolutely fine. A top quality RB and two CBs are essential. Plus a replacement for Ndombele, who in all honesty I have written off. That's an outlay of at least £140m but tbh I think we can make close to that by selling the right players for the right prices without having to sell Kane. Plus the team is so utterly reliant on Kane right now the vast majority of funds we make from his sale will unavoidably need to be spent on a new ST and creative AM. That's circa £80-90m of his windfall gone and none of the urgent areas of the squad have even been looked at yet.
I've just spent the last hour watching the latest Ali Gold video on Paratici and Forseca , I feel a lot less anxious about the future or is this a reemergence of the younger me who purchased a Betamax video, a Squarial, laserdiscs , got excited when we signed Rebrov,Postiga,Soldado , Paulinho ect ect ect , I even got excited what Blair was elected but that only lasted for a couple of weeks
That's because you are a Spurs supporter Alfie. We can watch a wall falling down and believe it will all be alright in the end and we can soon put a fence around the rubble.
I think we're also miles off of an injury free Liverpool and Chelsea in a second season under Tuchel. I'd place West Ham and Leicester within our immediate grasp if we are smart this window and Fonseca isn't a second coming of AVB. At a stretch we can catch United who I think benefited massively from a ridiculous number of soft refereeing decisions and whose league place is inflated. If we can reel in 3 out of 6 teams next season, that represents a giant leap forward and would be a more than satisfactory achievement given the turmoil of the past 2 years.
There is every possibility Maureen turned down players too. I'd bet at least 1 of the 3 loan strikers we were linked with during the pre pandemic injury crisis was nailed on, but Jose didn't want any of them and we ended up buying a winger. The glaring unknown is who those players are/were. There is evidence that Poch turned down Ferreira and Tielemans but he might have turned down others who were simply crap. And that's where a (good) DOF is crucial. If for whatever reason the manager's Plan A doesn't work out, someone needs to step in to source a Plan B of similar quality and attributes. We cannot afford any more windows of an established back up striker becoming a young winger, or Skriniar becoming Rodon.
After reading the international break thread I have decided that Southgate needs to be our manager...just so we can be treated to @Spurf losing his **** everyw week
I am glad you posted RCL there was quite a gap and I thought, oh dear should I have posted that So I am glad you didn't **** off after all.
Considering how often I call you lot happy clappy mofos I am in no position to take the high moral ground
I didn't realise that you knew there was a moral high ground. We know what you're saying RCL...................... Bastard!
My father in law brought one , he paid about £120.00 for the Sound of Music Tape and only watched it once as it was on TV every year
